A fresh start is very much needed- for all Obama's talk and posturing (Indian PM was first Head of State to be given a state dinner by the Obamas, Obama even visited India) he has let the relationship go by the wayside and nothing much has happened in the last 2-3 years and then the whole visa issue was heaped on top of an already faded relationship. Under Bush ties between India and the US were far more fruitful for both sides and I do feel that under a Republican President President again the Indo-US ties would be far warmer.

@Topic, should be of benefit to India- the US has just unparalleled reach and data collection and analysis capabilities especially on both of India's main challenges- China and Pakistan. For China the US will want to give as much info to the Indians as possible given their interest to "contain" China. And as for Pakistan, I'm sure India's and the US' interests align on the anti-terror front vis a vis Pakistan and the US is certainly going to have some handy info on the Pakistanis as they very much have deep penetration and vast assets in that nation.
