I agree, it has to be the indigenous population engaging the terrorists not foreign troops who are not answerable to the natives. This creates more problems than solutions.

If the US confirms this leasing of the bases with the Afghan Govt , that would only prove one thing .

The Americans haven't understood the mentality of the Afghan people because anything foreign is " forbidden " in there .

I think it would show the American desire to control Afghanistan for leverage against Iran and China and even Pakistan.

Because Afghans are only good for two things - Killing each other & then banding together & killing the outsider ! And they never stop either of those two things.

I think Afghanistan need USA for stable Govt. Taliban is evil for Afghanistan and it will try to expand again once US army leave but USA make a nice move.

and why do you think US military bases will destabilize Afghanistan. The country around the world having US bases are in good shape(Japan, South Korea).You are making biased comment and calls me kid and denies you pissed off state.
