MUMBAI: With reports that the Unites States intelligence officials are likely to arrive in Mumbai to question Kalyan's Arif Majeed—the ISIS recruit who was deported from Turkey last week—security agencies in India are worried the US may act like big brother while interrogating him. This, despite the fact that they gave Indian officials a tough time in securing access to Pakistan-born US national David Headley, an accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks.

It was only after the Indian government took up the case with the US in 2010 that they allowed the National Investigation Agency to interrogate him and that too in the presence of FBI officials and prosecutors.

"NIA was asked to submit the questionnaire it had prepared for Headley. Now, the question is whether we will be able to follow the same legal procedure here," said an officer.

The US had also refused India's request to extradite Headley and now India plans to make Headley depose via video-conferencing during trial. A senior official told TOI: "The US has not allowed Headley's extradition as he had pleaded guilty and set a condition that he should be tried only in the US."

Mumbai police sources said the US was yet to accede to India's request for access to Headley's wife Shazia Gilani and his girlfriend.

The US intelligence wants to question Majeed who spent almost five months in the troubled land controlled by ISIS. US officials showed interest after reports that Majeed, a civil engineer, told investigators that he had worked as a mason for Mosul dam and that he was injured in an aerial attack there. The dam is the largest in Iraq and located on Tigris river. ISIS held the dam for several weeks in July and August. On August 17, Kurdish and Iraqi military led by the US army launched a successful operation to regain control of the dam from ISIS.

Just two nations uniting against a common enemy.

. .
The so-called enemy is your friend. US is number one of ours. But you dumb-chaddis won't are easy too manipulate.

I wouldn't go as far as calling a terrorist our friend. I'm sure some of them are terrific guys but we just don't have that much in common with them:D

There is nothing wrong with it...Terrorist and their network can be controlled by effective cooperation only...
