We have demostrated by closing the NATO route that money doesnt mean anything to us and we will not be pushed in any forigen war plan!

This is another joke....just 2bn $ for all the efforts and losses which we had both on civilian and militry sides?! and if it's not enough congress has to approve it and then from 2012 we wil start getting these $ in the upcoming five years......it's hillarious.
Somebody will say "something is better then nothing" but i will prefer nothing then this ridiculous Aid and pull out Pakistan from this coalition and stop supporting Nato and U.S, then for sure they will realize that it's not so easy without Pakistan!

what troubles me is the talk about extra-judicial killing; we shouldn't let this slide. Gen Kayani himself ordered investigation, but nothing has been proven. As usual, guilty until proven innocent.

I'm sure it will quietly be buried under the carpet, but this isn't something that should be buried. It should be addressed. I personally think those videos were doctored.

if and when pakistan does get the money it should clarify that how much of that is actually the reimbursment for what US actually owed and whatever is left out to be the so called aid to fight war on terror
the loss of life and loss of trade and damage to economy due to this war is way beyond the 2Bn that US is offering.
I am sure a lot of hurdles will be put in by the antiPakistan lobby before it is actually approved

the only option Pakistan has is to use it liverage regarding the NATO route and its on going fight with terrorists in tribal areas specially against those that US calls Haqani group

It not ideal way to work with partners but sadly USA has a history of abusing its so called relationships with Pakistan

Clear indicators that the WOT is going to get more intense and last longer. For Pakistan, the money is very welcome to cover its costs incurred but how does this reflect for the Pakistan economy? A longer war would mean problems in Pak continue to exist and so foreign investments will be scarce.

As per this source Pakistan is getting 30 Bell 412 choppers, comm interception systems and many more systems as part of $ 2 billion military aid. A Pakistani official said that they are discussing about transport and attack choppers but US officials ruled out AH-64 and AH-1Z until 2015 so it might be the same AH-1F those were given to Pakistan earlier.
