US newspaper names PM Imran Khan on list for Peace Prize

What a world we are living in, and to think this is all because of India's military action and how Pakistan turned a negative situation into a positive. Media has been praising Pakistan and IK for "peace gesture".

India is portrayed as the defeated aggressor.
This is about it. Pulwama happens. India decides to chastise Pakistan and then get Pakistan vilified in the international arena. What happens instead? India gets b*tch slapped [something western media has noted by clearly reporting two Indian planes shot down and debunking New Delhi's tall claims] and instead of Pakistan being vilified most of the western press is heaping praise on Pakistan for having shown maturity and magnanimity by returning captured Indian pilot. This has had a positive perception on Pakistan.

Keep this up and we might one day be regarded as a respected, mature, influential state instead of a banana republic sat in the same row as Somalia.

This really has been a PR coup by Pakistan.

So you think war is answer? good luck pls logout from forum and go to border.
He should thank himself that he is not in Bihar getting lynched for having meat biriani.

At least we can play with his image in order to not call ourselves terrorist country. That can be good for branding of Pakistan.
Modi's goal was to slap Pakistan and then get the world to put pressure on 'terrorist pakistan'. Instead he get's slapped and pressure is being put to award PM of Pakistan 'Peace Prize'.

This is coup of the decade .... can imagine 1.4 billion Indian's screaming.

.
Then come out as the good guy's. I bet Modi did not expect this. Instead of punishing Pakistan on the international arena PM IK of Pakistan is being touted for peace prize.

This is how international chess is played ....

You beat the crap out of your opponent and get praised and appreciated for that. It doesn't get any better than that.

.
That should apply to those seeking peace prize for tying hands of Pak army.
West is giving this hint to all politicians of Pakistan,... if you keep your soldiers tied up in war, you'll be rewarded as Imran Khan is.

You are utterly exhausting.

The fact that you are not a patwari, and probably not getting paid to be this relentless makes it even worse.

Yes, i do think war is the answer, otherwise Pakistanis will continue pay economically and will continue to be subject to humiliation of baseless acquisition.

I also think all those are traitors, who have in past didn't allowed PAF to take shot when IAF jets were locked in. Ordered to escort Indian submarines to safety.

I think he will get some international award soon and he deserve ..

Good for him but why he deserve?
If it's about releasing Indian pilot than it sound more of a deal!

PM Imran Khan has been praised worldwide for releasing Indian pilot Abhinandan.

(Web Desk) - US newspaper Christian Science Monitor has named Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on a starting list of world leaders who standout to win this year’s Peace Prize.

The newspaper has included his name for citing his leadership in de-escalating the recent tensions between India and Pakistan after Pulwama incident in Occupied Kashmir.

These may be trying times for the Nobel committee. So many world leaders are standouts to win this year’s Peace Prize. In the midst of their particular crises, each one is trying different ways to prevent violence. Yet each can be held up as a model of peacemaking in process, worthy of a supportive award.

Perhaps the biggest surprise in peaceful leadership – and most critical to the world – is Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan. The former cricket star has become focus of the entire South Asian region.

After a Feb. 14 attack in Pulwama which killed 44 Indian security forces in occupied Kashmir, India violated Pakistan’s airspace since the war in 1971 between the two nuclear-capable states, and both countries were primed for all-out conflict.

Pakistan, in response, shot down two Indian fighter jets and captured an Indian Air Force (IAF) pilot Abhinandan Varthaman.

In a goodwill gesture that suddenly changed the mood, PM Khan returned an Indian pilot. He also offered talks with India and promised to take a stern action against whosoever was responsible for the attack if India provided evidence.

“Nobody wins in a war. Especially countries that have the sort of weapons that India and Pakistan possess should not even think of war...,” he said.

Events are still moving in each country and the Peace Prize will not be known until October. For now, however, each deserves attention and support, especially for their conviction that peace is possible and natural.

I think he has very peacefully , strike inside IOK and promote peace . He release the pilot at right time, because that was the moment when worldwide media was looking at Pakistan.
