One of the best aspects of us is its wokeism. Dont understimate it. it allows us to tap in to talents of marginalized people. Ofcourse one can i ask why were they marginalized in first place. But nevertheless for the way Us right now is with diversity and some race tensions - it needs wokeism and us has benefitted from it. Look at all white euro countries - they are doing much worse.

I agree. I think Asian Americans and particularly Chinese Americans should also be included as a marginalized oppressed group in need of federal dollars and affirmative action. Since Asian Americans are far underrepresented in politics and sports that is where we should look for implicit bias.

South Africa has formally recognized Chinese as legally black so there's precedent.

I love how you choice basically one of the only US military ads the is even like this as a way of trying to portray the American military as weak. They have many ads from every branch, and as someone who has seen many US military ads on tv. I have never seen this one shown on tv or on social media, but I'm not gonna lie that one is cringe and trouble. I don't even know why they would even release this garbage.

They are pushing hard for women, LGBT, immigrants, racial minorities, etc. to join the military. That's why they showed Asian pilot, female missile defense operator and black commander but no white man.

I hope to see diversity and inclusion to be more valued in the US military. But make no mistake it is still a powerful force.

I don't think anyone dismisses the US military's capabilities. Most people just don't think that the ad targets the right audience. Even if you ignore the political pandering, the ads don't really inform you anything about military life.

Yes the message from those ads is very obvious. Does US military have some trouble recruiting people these days?
As powerful as the US tries to portray itself to be, it is overrated which you should know what i mean.

The US military doesn't want to be seen as the same demographic as Trump supporters if it wants to remain generally supported by the public.

The #1 priority of any military is political support. That is what these ads are for.
