If you read that wiki page, it is itself claims that there are many different versions..BTW that's not the main point..at least none can deny that he is the supreme leader of ISIS - their caliph? how did it happen?

It happened because his boss was killed. BTW people at Guantanimo weren't there for selling ice cream. As I recall the US was pressured by the World to release anybody whom we didn't have 100% concrete proof that they were a threat. Some stayed and some were released. As if the people released never chatted with even more dangerous people who were not released.. I'm quite sure they soaked up as much as they could.

Keep telling yourself that lie. The whole world knows how the US armed and financed terror groups to fight the Cold War.

Now you are busy arming and supporting terror groups in Syria and other places around the world. Your lies don't have any weight anymore.

Sir definitely it won't come out as a straight forward proof especially when top agencies plan things...however connecting the dots will always help you understand what is going on. Do you know that Abu Bakr Baghdadi was released from Guantanamo Bay prison before creating the ISIS? the mother organisation of Al Qaeda was also funded and trained by CIA but when these proxies loose their value, they need to be replaced with modified ones for new situations..ISIS has been transported into Afghanistan after being routed by Russia in Syria. Before Russian involvement in this war, ISIS was getting only stronger despite the farcical NATO airstrikes...not a dent was made. It only grew stronger.. but Russia turned the tables and USA didn't like that at all.

ISIS-K is distinct from the original ISIS movement as in the two emerged separately - no concrete links between the two besides lip-service.

No, Russia was not in the position to defeat ISIS because its mandate was/is limited to Syria whereas ISIS movement registered a huge presence across Syria and Iraq.

US and Iran contributed most to fight against ISIS since 2014 with US-led forces at the forefront of this effort due to unparalleled reach and power projection of USAF. People should come to terms with the fact that Operation Inherent Resolve broke the back of ISIS, nothing else was sufficient. Even in Syria, US-led forces took care of ISIS-stronghold Raqqa.

It is typical of Russian sources to accuse US of supporting ISIS but they fall short in providing evidence; should you ever conduct content analysis of Russian disclosures about ISIS, you will notice a pattern.
