Lawmakers from both Democratic and Republican parties in the lower chamber of the US Congress passed the Hong Kong Human Rights and Democracy Act on October 15, 2019.The House of Representatives also voted in a Protect Hong Kong Act which restricts exports of police equipment to the city, as well as a resolution that condemns Beijing’s interference in Hong Kong. The bills will now move to the US Senate, where they are expected to pass.Beijing has already criticised the legislation as US interference in China’s internal affairs.

Finally some sensible legislation from the US

Ok love for Hong Kong.
Will they also pass one for the brave Catalan people as well? Leaders today were all given massive jail terms and the people beaten to a pulp.

As soon as doing so serves national interests, it shall be done.

America is a hypocritical piece of shit.
But at least some good can come out their hypocrisy

There is nothing hypocritical about the pursuit of national interests by ANY country, including USA.

Talking against the brutal actions of Spain that make Hong kong look like a party in the park? There's more chance of hell freezing over I'm afraid.

National interests align and malign all the time. Once there was the great Spanish-American war. Vietnam went from a foe to a trading partner. Who knows what happens next? Hell can freeze over from time to time, apparently. :D

It is human nature for people to be far more efficient in minding other people's business than their own.

Tit for tat, if the world can only has room for one power, let's fight it out.

China is equally entitled to pursue its own national interests as it sees fit, of course.
