US high school students join Muslim peers in wearing hijabs

the best way to express support for muslims would be to support the syrian government and the libyan green resistance.

wearing a "hijab" is the most bullshit way to show support.

until twenty years ago, there were not many hijabis in the world... but because of the encouragement by western governments, there are sadly lots now.

.
Showing support is a nice gesture, but what matters is the percentage of Americans who support this idea. I am not sure if there are many.

.
The picture looked PhotoShoped because of black hijab look fake.
It is better to do a bit of research before commenting negatively and getting embarrassed.. Watch this

.
but it's disgusting and shirk when the roles are reversed.

.
Last year, our MSA members tried it too and the response was great. Even the profs wore the hijab to show unity with their students.

Most of normal Americans are amazing people. They are easier to talk rather they are so talkative that you would, at times, run out of answers or words and make you feel like as you were an old friend which is totally different than europeans especially the north-western Europeans. It takes some time to understand their direct way of talking and also their sense of humour is a bit rough or not so refine but once you get used to, they are really a friendly bunch people.

The girl on the right reminds of my colleague and business partner (a confused Christian, semi-agnostic lady ); once entered my office wearing a hijab over her mini skirt expecting me to appreciate her attempt on understanding Islam :)

This is so true. Sometimes all they need is a little awareness. They judge Muslims or Islam based on what they see on social or electronic media. But When you talk to them openly and tell them about the true Islam, they accept it with open heart.

What is your problem, they are school girls and perhaps don't even know the global politics etc. This is a very positive gesture for their Muslim classmates.
Why are lying twenty years ago there was no hijab all of the sudden they landed from Mars waring hijab? Perhaps your home got first Tv 10 yrs ago or you were just watching cartoons

Wow what a surprising claim even the western would be shocked that they supported hijab?
As opposed to you lies and crap, France banned all religious head wear from public places ----> mainly the Muslim women where the target and they were the most affected. Similarly many european govt have been contemplating ban on hijab at least in public places....

No it's not bullsh*t idea. That simply shows the unity to their classmates.
Sadly lots now? What problem do you have to hijabis? Just wearing head scarf doesn't make me any inferior or so. So much hate. ;/

Hi,

I would say that the americans are the most wonderful people that I have ever come across---.

Hi,

Would it be any different if I put a red dot on my forehead or wore a DHOTI to show my support for the Hindu colleagues!

US high school students join Muslim peers in wearing hijabs

Students of a high school in Chicago joined their Muslim peers in wearing hijabs as part of an event.

The Muslim Students Association (MSA) of Vernon Hills High School in Chicago hosted an event “Walk a Mile in Her Hijab” aiming to provide a better understanding of the Muslim faith. The event gave students of other religions an opportunity to wear the hijab in tan attempt to challenge stereotyping of Muslims.

Six members of the school’s MSA devoted an entire morning placing hijabs on 17 non-Muslim girls as they conversed about the beliefs of Muslims. Teachers and students at the school were encouraged to ask questions about the hijab if they came across a student wearing one.

“I wanted to learn more about the religion, considering my uncle is also Muslim,” Charli Mosley a junior at the school said while wearing a red hijab. “With more people wearing a hijab around school, it could bring more acceptance to the religion and have more people become more aware.”

While expressing his admiration for Muslim students at the school, the school headmaster said the event is an opportunity for the kids to embrace the Muslim community at the school.

“I think it is a difficult time to be a Muslim student in our high school, in our community, and in America,” he said.

“I think this is an opportunity for our kids to embrace the Muslim community within the school. For other kids outside of this organization, to understanding what it’s like for these girls to walk through our halls in this garment in a way that stands out from other kids. So, I’m proud of them,” he added.

..
We thank them for doing this and appreciate this Gesture

nature calls them adult and so they should behave like adults and not succumb to brainwash.

good !!

in fact while many progressive muslim-majority countries refused the "hijab" or burqa or uncomfortably wear them because of current circumstances, it was in the western countries, especially britain, where the hijabis/burqas found freedom and it was from these western countries came a lot of the nato-supported terrorists who invaded syria and libya in early 2011.
