US has sharp words for China over Snowden

all I can say is this, the US has long been housing our escaped idiots. Snowden is a piece of garbage that I think should die for betraying his country.

However, US also houses that blind fool.

China US should sign treaty that any escaped traitor is to handed over to the other country immediately and is to assist the other in getting to them.

US need to realize China is not the soviets. We are communist and authoritarian, but we are economics first. We have cities that rivals and in some cases surpasses the US. We are an attractive option for traitors, as US is to ours. So it is best if we have mutual benefits.

Well you see If US can harbour many Chinese dissidents under the pretext of ' freedom of crap' why can't China do the same?

That is exactly what I have been asking but no Chinese brave enough to answer. Why is China not sheltering and protecting Snowden? After all, Snowden have given China an allegedly treasure trove of technical information about US cyber capabilites. It is only the right thing to do to protect, shelter, and even compensate him for what he has done for China. He did not flee to Japan or South Korea or the Philippines or Taiwan. He fled to China. China could use him as an example of how China 'respect' human rights and exposure of oppression by a government.

Oooppss...China does not respect human rights and have an oppressive government.

I think he's playing mortal kombat in vietnam:lol:

Don't say Mortal Kombat, the lead character there is a Shaolin Monk called Liu Kang.

He would never go for that. :D

LOL, first America "warns" us not to refuse the Extradition of Snowden back to the USA.

That was duly ignored and we sent Snowden to where he wanted to go, Russia and then Ecuador.

Now we've ignored America's warnings already, you come up with some new imaginary goalpost that is purely hypothetical, after he already left.

Why not shelter and protect Snowden? What is China afraid of?

Learn to read, he said his final destination is either Ecuador or Iceland.

We already went against American warnings by refusing to extradite him in the first place. We gave him exactly what he asked for, safe passage to his final destination. No point moving the goalposts when it is already done.

If he changes his mind and decides that he wants asylum in Russia or China then that can certainly be arranged.

He had entered HK legally and departed legally. HK has its own law and justice system so why should it bent it for USA?
If USA was too slow in submitting the required documents and information, tough luck.

. . .
So what USA gonna do ? gonna attack China and bring democracy in China ? @gambit gonna bring democracy in China :D

Personally, I think it is entirely sensible for China/Hong Kong to have let Snowden leave. China didn't grant him asylum or set off a long bargaining drama. China merely let the man go on his way to be someone else's "problem" or "opportunity". China passed on the game. The Obama people look like babies to complain about happened in Hong Kong. If they had wanted Snowden so bad they should have activated our CIA cells in Hong Kong and rendered him to Gitmo. Of course to do THAT (behaving like George Bush) would have sent Obama's liberal base into apoplexy. They wanted China, and now Russia, to do their dirty work. Obama is a wimp.

Oh yeah I forgot that your family is from HK as well.

I'm guessing you are happy about this result too. :D

Hah, actually I'm from GuangZhou, so canto is my native tongue *high five*

In fact, I think all Chinese are happy about this result. Heck, even majority of American does, lol.

Now it's time to sit back, and enjoy the show between Russia and the US.
