I don't understand your post, on the one hand it states that the Jets are being funded through US FMF and on the other hand it states that the person who has a veto on FMF has withheld funding.
Either way, if it is indeed the case that we are not spending our own money then the funds should have been used for AH-1Z's rather then the almost useless (in quantity of 8) F-16's.
My limited point was that the funds cannot be used for JF-17s. Surely they could be used for procurements from US. Since Pakistan is already procuring 15 AH-1Zs, the military may have gone for F-16s this time. Also, note that it is easy to start small and later piggy back on that deal for additional numbers. The provision is already there in this deal and with US bound to stay in Afghanistan for another decade Pakistan is bound to receive more CSF funds and deals.
