:sniper:Terrorist attacks on twin towers of world trade centre and Pentagon on September 11th 2001 changed the pattern of World politics. These attacks, not only gave excuse to the hawkish elements of US administration to carry out their crusade against the nations, which they deemed unfavorable to their interests but also exposed American vulnerabilities.
The US reaction after 9-11 was swift and brutal. Afghanistan was invaded and Taliban Government was ousted. The aim of this war, as defined by US administration was, “War against terrorism” but after the victory in Afghanistan, no visible accomplishment was made except the installation of puppet Karzi regime. To this minute the main Taliban and Al-Qaida leadership, which was the target, is at large.
In 2003, Iraq was invaded, again in the name of “war on terrorism” and Iraqi tyrant Saddam Hussein was ousted in face of world’s opposition to do so . At present signals from Pentagon and Washington indicate that America is preparing a new war on Iran.
It is now quite visible that Bush administration is implementing the plan chalked out by Neocons think Tank “Project for new American century (PNAC)[1]” in its paper “Rebuilding America’s Defenses[2] (RAD)”.
Neocon’s wanted an incident like Pearl Harbor to have an excuse to implement their agenda of global domination, which is amalgam of by religious-corporate intrests. Neocon leaders are either Evangical extremists or Zionists/proto-Zionists not surprisingly President Bush him self is a Born Again Evangical who claims to have experienced Holy Spirit [3]. That is why in academic circles, US Afghan invasion and than Iraq and now hostility towards Iran, Syria and other so called rouge states do not came as a surprise.
The US system is based on free market system and depends on the phenomena of demand and supply. It in simple words means that all the evolution of policies and changes in the culture are govern by the demand and supply of different commodities.
The power in a capitalist system lies with the bearer of capital or money. The rich make moralities and give trends to the society. Close study of US system reveals US politics are in fact regulated by elite Rich class, which finance and give large donations to parties of their choice, which in turn oblige these elites by formulating policies of their interests. As Michel Moore tells in his Documentary “ Fahrenheit 911” the BUSH who welcomed Taliban delegation in his Taxes farm as a governor became their critic when UNOCOL oil company and Taliban regime failed to reach any agreement over proposed oil pipe line from Central Asia to Arabian sea via Afghanistan and Pakistan. Interestingly 1st US ambassador to Afghanistan Zulmay Khalilzad and Afghan President Hamid Karzai in past both worked for the same oil company UNOCOL.
The second important element which influences US policies and Society is American roots in Jeudo- Christian tradition. For many readers it will be a surprising but it’s a fact that through out American history Christianity greatly influenced American lives and policies. The word fundamentalism it self have an origin in a religious movement in America.
Historically a political group first came to the attention of the students of political elites in 1976 when large numbers of these religious fanatics helped elect Jimmy Carter, a ''born-again[4]'' Christian. Disillusioned by Carter's liberal politics and social attitudes, they became a major recruiting ground for the ''New Right'' that in turn paved the way for the election in 1980 of former president Ronald Reagan[5].
These Christian religious groups strongly and force fully supports Israel and its occupation and treatment of Palestinians. These Christian Taliban, as one US policy observer calls them believe that Christ’s second arrival will be for saving Israel from heathens who want to destroy Israel and Jeudo-Christian traditions and civilization. Many prominent and influential Evengical leaders like Pat Robertson (CBS), Gerry Falwell (Christian Right) and Billy Graham, Rod Parsley a key republican presidential candidate McCain ally in Ohio etc openly say that Biblical prophesy about the war of Armageddon will be fought against Islam which is a darkest force seen in the history[6]. These fanatics openly support Israel and their influence on Bush administration can be seen from the fact that Bush is him self a COMMITTED Born again Evengical Christian. Whose White house begins its day with regular Bible Period and worship sessions.
Due to foreign policy driven by Religious and corporate fanatics USA has become the most hated power in the world and its military capabilities the most feared one. The result of war on terrorism is not as favorable as it was conceived. Terrorism and religious hatred is increasing day by day especially due to conduct of US forces and their imperialistic behavior. Scandals like Abu Ghraib, and dishonour of Quran by US soldiers and mass killing in name of “collateral Damage” is producing more fanatics and extremists. To add wood into fire Evangical Baptist lobby is doing its best to discredit Islam and Muslims. Neocons controlled media, Like Fox News is propagating worst anti Islamic propaganda in the history to prepare Americans for Armageddon and promote hate against Islam or any body who refuse US commands or version of world order.
The economic war for dominance is taking a new mode. Neo-liberal cooperate forces together with religious fundamentalist Evangical and born again Baptist Christian fanatics have joined hands to kill two birds with the same arrow. The first one is safe guard of Israel and defeat of Muslim power centers. According to General William Boykin’s,EX- Deputy Under-Secretary of Defence for Intelligence
“Bin Laden is not the enemy. No mortal is the enemy. It's the enemy you can't see. It's a war against the forces of darkness."
“"...Our roots are Judeo-Christian. Did I say Judeo-Christian? Yes. Judeo-Christian. That means we've got a commitment to Israel. That means it's a commitment we're never going to abandon.Ladies and gentlemen, we will never abandon Israel; we will never walk away from our commitment to Israel because our roots are there. Our religion came from Judaism, and therefore these radicals will hate us forever[7]."
The role of radical fundamentalist Christian theology in the Bush Administration's foreign policy is crucial to understand, yet shrouded in secrecy. Bush Administration cooperating with fundamentalist Christians in the Pentagon is an attempt to bring about Armageddon[8].
The second target and objective is control of resources. War for the resources is being fought in disguise of War on Terrorism. US attack on Afghanistan, Iraq and now plan for Iran is nothing but for control of oil and gas resources. The disgraceful conduct of corporation’s like Hailbertens in Iraq and of other US companies confirm that there will be more wars in the name of terrorism for the wealth of other nations.
US presence and want of permanent military bases in Central Asian states especially near Caspian oil reserves is projecting violent future for the region and world. On the other hand world political and strategic order is also changing in response to American unilateralism and lust for resources Chinese – Russian military exercises and co-operation with “RAUGE STATES LIKE IRAN”is meant to give clear signal to US that China and Russia do not like US presence in Central Asia[9].
One of the biggest defiance example is being given by IRAN who has begin competing with New York's NYMEX and London's IPE with respect to international oil trades, using a euro-based international oil-trading mechanism. The proposed Iranian oil bourse signifies that without some sort of US intervention, the euro is going to establish a firm foothold in the international oil trade. Given U.S. debt levels and the stated neoconservative project of U.S. global domination, Tehran's objective constitutes an obvious encroachment on Dollar supremacy in the crucial international oil market [10].
Formulators of American foreign policy at present are faceing defeats at many levels, contrary to their wishes Iran is defing their wishes, Russia and China are becoming potential competitors , situation in Iraq and Afghanistan is becoming horrible, Pakistan has signed a deal with Taliban for peace ,Chavez and his socialist allies in south America are becoming headic that’s why now Americans are resorting to cheap tactics some time the leak information from al Arabia tv about where about of Osama in K2 area and some time they use bitter words to make us submit our selves to their interests. Today’s blast at Danish embassy it self raises many questions. The main one is if it’s work of Islamists Taliban then why they did not do it when on every week they were hitting targets in Pakistan as far as in Lahore? The answer I believe is simple i.e. some one is trying its best to fail peace deal and pressure Pakistani government to resume offensive against its own people for religious corporate interests of America..

[1] In 1997 Neo Conservative elements of Republican Party formed this think tank. Its important officals included Dick Chenny, Jeb Bush, Richard Pearl , Ashcroft and Rumsfield etc all prominent in present Bush Regime. The PNAC philosophy was formed in response to the ending of Cold War hostilities with Russia and the emergence of America as the world's only preeminent superpower. Claiming that this is a "strategic moment" that should not be squandered, members of PNAC say that America should use its position to advance its power and interests into all areas of the globe.

Bush's booby traps for Obama

The Bush administration is leaving behind foreign policy tripwires that could blow up on the next president.

Discuss Article Ever since Joe Biden suggested that the world would "test" Barack Obama if he becomes president, the McCain campaign has been hoping to make political hay out of the remark. "We don't want a president who invites testing from the world," John McCain warned voters.

But every new president is "tested" by national security crises, some predictable, some not. And I'm a lot less worried about the tests "the world" may offer Obama than about the national security booby traps the Bush administration is leaving behind for him.

Start with Iraq. The Dow's gyrations have pushed it off the front pages, but it's still there -- along with nearly 150,000 U.S. troops (compare this to "pre-surge" troop levels of 132,000 to 135,000). And the administration appears to be doing its best to make Obama's planned troop drawdown difficult.

We can't leave behind a stable Iraq without the cooperation of Iraq's neighbors, but this week's cross-border raid by Iraq-based U.S. troops into Syrian territory led Syria to break off high-level diplomatic contacts with U.S. officials -- contacts that had only recently been resumed. Heated negotiations over the future status of U.S. forces in Iraq have further increased tensions with Syria, Iran and the Iraqi government, which fear permanent U.S. military activities in the region. The current impasse in status-of-forces negotiations also threatens to leave U.S. troops in Iraq with no legal basis for their presence when their United Nations mandate expires Dec. 31. Happy New Year, Barack!

Then there's Afghanistan.

The Bush administration followed early military successes with grandiose promises of democracy and prosperity, then mostly ignored Afghanistan for the next six years. Meanwhile, the Taliban reconstituted itself, Al Qaeda leaders slipped away into Pakistan's ungoverned tribal regions, and U.S. troops found themselves playing an increasingly deadly game of Whac-a-Mole against an elusive and ill-defined enemy. According to the latest national intelligence estimate, Afghanistan is now in a possibly irreversible "downward spiral."

For years, Obama has criticized the administration for taking its eye off the ball in Afghanistan and has pledged more troops and resources to "finish the job." But it's no longer clear what the "job" is, and whether it's one our troops have a realistic chance of finishing.

We know from Iraq that countering insurgencies requires a long, hard slog -- success not guaranteed -- and that the presence of foreign troops can help fuel nationalist insurgencies. More troops in Afghanistan might have turned things around if those troops -- and a less stingy reconstruction package -- had arrived five years ago, when Afghan hopes were high. But after years of Bush administration malfeasance, increasing U.S. troop levels without an accompanying dramatic shift in regional strategy risks turning Afghanistan into another Iraq.

Or worse, because the Afghan booby trap is wired tightly to the Pakistan booby trap. Pakistan is the proud but horrifyingly unstable possessor of a nuclear arsenal. If the escalating conflicts in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border regions spin out of control, we could end up in another Iraq-like situation -- only with weapons of mass destruction in the mix for real this time.

Increasingly, U.S. forces have sought to reduce violence inside Afghanistan by staging cross-border counterattacks against suspected Taliban and Al Qaeda targets based inside Pakistan. Tactically, there's some logic to this. Strategically, not so much.

Pakistan has never been a paragon of stability, and years of unconditional Bush administration military aid for Pervez Musharraf's repressive government made things worse. Now, with the Bush administration increasingly violating Pakistani sovereignty with cross-border strikes, relations between the United States and the new government of Asif Ali Zardari are more tense than ever.

In principle, Obama agrees that strikes inside Pakistan may at times be justified -- but experts close to him suggest that many of the strikes authorized by the Bush White House probably wouldn't have passed muster for Obama. But that may not matter. Like it or not, Obama will inherit a situation in which U.S. credibility and popularity in Pakistan are close to zero and the Pakistani government is only barely in control.

It's a situation that's virtually designed to blow up in his face.

Some booby traps left by departing administrations are harmless. Clinton pranksters allegedly removed all the "W" keys from White House computer keyboards in January 2001, and outbound Bush 41 staffers reportedly left drawers full of pencils cut down to inch-long stubs. But no one got hurt.

If we can someday say the same about the booby traps this Bush administration is leaving behind, we'll be very lucky.
