US F-35 fighter jet conducts first-ever airstrike in Afghanistan

In another historic day, USA tested tomahawk cruise missiles in Afghanistan - and that was a historic day from Pakistan's stand point as well...

.. not sure about USA but Pakistan will be all eyes to have another historic day from its point of view :D
I am not sure how F-35 operating in Afghanistan, benefit us; unlikely because we do not have access to it. Rather F-35 can see lot of stuff on the surface (and otherwise) due to its extraordinary sensor-suite and target acquisition capabilities.

However, this was meaningful after a long time: https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wo...hina-access-to-bin-Laden-raid-helicopter.html

F-35 is probably gathering much more info for the US than Pakistan is getting from it flying over Pakistan airspace.

More like bad news for us. They were testing RQ-170 surveillance drone in Afghanistan (2007 - 2011) until Operation Neptune Spear materialized out of the blue and took us by surprise.

Nobody even knew about F-35-led operation in Afghanistan until CNN broke the story; could be that it slipped through undetected. Could also be the case that F-35 came with lunesburg radar reflectors in order to give the impression of normal aircraft sortie. Think about the information they are gathering from Pakistan and Iran from time-to-time.

Some days ago, a B-52 bomber unloaded 24 x long-range ALCM on a designated target (a mountain) in Afghanistan with pinpoint accuracy. Firepower, in this case, shook the entire region.

They are testing sophisticated weapons in Afghanistan from time-to-time, and probing regional defenses as added bonus. Pakistan should exert heavy pressure on Afghan Taliban to seek peace with Afghan government so that we can create conditions for American EXIT from Afghanistan.
Yea they should have kept keen eye for stealth drone RQ series. Well thats what i am saying. We need to test out all aparatus for f35b we got from china and east europe. F35 is supposed to be the easy one
Its not full stealth.

.
i wish one crash in Pakistan and we will sell it to china for reverse engineering
Even in that senerio where one plane crashes, why do you want to give it to China. Even during imagination you cannot think big.
Why not we do reverse engineering ourself then?
When would you come out of this mentality where you want to expect other people to help you.

Pakistan's Imran Khan-led Government has allowed the US to violate it's airspace to get an IMF loan despite promising not participate in others' wars.

Shameful.

Are you like sane.
How did they do that?
We still allow them airspace. And can also fly over Iran or China or central Asia.
And we alow their aircrafts to fly over us yet.
They are not violating any airspace.
Besides its the army cheif who decides to Allow or to ban America.

we not have good education system and universities and have no previous experience of aircraft development and have no money to develop such jets on our own without chinese help

Bro,

Pakistani radar systems are scattered across the country, and therefore Pakistani radar coverage is extensive accordingly (C4ISR networking). However, every piece of equipment is switched-off for maintenance from time-to-time, and gaps in radar coverage originate accordingly. Radar systems also have a duty cycle (average - peak - average - peak). Americans understand these matters all too well, and much more.

F-35 is designed to penetrate highly contested spaces - make no mistake. And each aircraft can see lot of stuff on the surface (and in the air) while passing through, and its EW capabilities is a topic of discussion in itself. Accordingly, pilot would know what to do, and how to proceed. This beast is FULL PACKAGE.

Pakistan can certainly do its best to monitor developments in the region, but we need to apply breaks to our excitement in these matters. I would.

Chinese (and Russian) anti-stealth capabilities have significant limitations, contrary to popular perceptions. USAF is known to equip its stealthy aircraft with Luneburg lens (radar reflectors) for overseas operations as an SOP, to fool Russians and Chinese.

(CNN)The US military's F-35B joint strike fighter conducted its first-ever airstrike on Thursday, according to the US Marine Corps and three US defense officials.

The strike took place in Afghanistan against a fixed Taliban target. The aircraft involved were the US Marine Corps' variant of the aircraft flying from the USS Essex amphibious assault ship.

The Marines confirmed the strike in a statement: "During this mission the F-35B conducted an air strike in support of ground clearance operations, and the strike was deemed successful by the ground force commander."

A historic day!

good to 120M+ plane can conduct a mission against a enemy with out a airforce..

just lol...

. .
You mocked the Russians doing that in Syria against an enemy with no air force?

err no...

Russians didnt deploy stealth planes... but attack planes... and they didnt do it show off.. but get the job done... some thing they managed to do but US with all it's huffy and puffy might didnt....

they also deployed Su 30s keep the americans are at bay so that they wont come to aid their ISIS pals.

using a stealth plane in A-stan shows that your guys were just testing your weapons and not some noble cause ie end terrorism.. as you claim you do.

so yes it is funny... the US used to fly in baskin robbin ice cream from Sharjah on a daily basis and yet never bother to as much put a ice cream factory there..

Okay so the planes the SU-57 deployed to Syria but didn't do much would be hypocritical. After all they have the SU-34s and other aircraft already there so why need to deploy their new aircraft to Syria? To test it just like sending the F-35 to Afghanistan?
