Apostate or Heretic?

As for India, they are not rising nearly as fast as they like to think.

List of countries by future GDP (nominal) estimates - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dude then check my signature as well.
It shows our growth and that's what matters.
Compare the growth with the rest of the world?:azn: and look into future prospects?

I have been following your posts for quite some time and believe me Chinese Dragon has brought up this list of gdp(nominal) xxxx times into discussion.
Then do check out list of GDP (PPP) as well and then the growth rate and then the future predictions.
If you want to evaluate India's economy then evaluate in all dimensions, not only those that you choose according to your whims and choices.

About your signature, here are some numbers.

Hong Kong - GDP per capita - $31,799
Shanghai - GDP per capita - $11,361
Beijing - GDP per capita - US$10,070

Delhi - GDP per capita - $1,450
Mumbai - GDP per capita - $2,780

Again it was unnecessary to bring India into this discussion. It was a cheap shot by CardSharp. 'CD' just grabbed on the opportunity. If we raise the issue to them, we are labelled trolls and followed immediately by a comment 'you won't last here long'. Isn't that right 'CardSharp'?

True.Did i argue with the reduction of poverty rates?
Also keep in mind that Chinese reforms started 13 years earlier than India.
But the point you miss is improvement shown year by year and future predictions.

But neither my sig is false.

Everyone knows that you can't use GDP "PPP" to compare actual economic size. If that were true, then China's economy would be nearly the same size as the US economy today, which is clearly NOT true.

Secondly, China and India had similar sized economies in 1990. Check it yourself.

Today our economy is four times larger and growing faster. Why? Because we have been growing at "double-digit growth" for the past few decades.

When is India predicted to reach double-digit growth?

No it won't be

Yeah, do you actually think that China is $10 trillion and the USA is $14 trillion?

China is $6 trillion this year. That is the actual/nominal size.

GDP "PPP" comparisons are worthless because that is not comparing actual economic size, you're adjusting it by relative prices of goods and services inside the country. Obviously stuff in India is cheap, that doesn't make the people richer.

According to the Wall Street Journal, earning $2 a day in India, makes someone "middle class". Try earning $2 a day in Hong Kong or Tokyo, and you will starve.

How the heck is this relevant to current topic?

Topic has nicely been diverted into a China vs India trollfest by PDF's prized Chinese trolls

Issuing a "troll fatwa"?

I'm sure that explains why Indian trolls get banned by the boatload while Chinese posters rarely get banned.

GDP by purchasing power parity is a relative comparison(therefore more realistic for comparison of indicators like per capita income.) than nominal GDP(which is an absolute figure.)
