The United States on Thursday congratulated General Qamar Javed Bajwa on being appointed Pakistan’s army chief.

On being asked whether there would be any changes under Gen Bajwa’s leadership, State Department Spokesperson Mark Toner said, “He was just appointed at the end of November, so let’s give this gentleman a chance to get up to speed.”

Ohio State attacker described himself as ‘pious and scared’ Muslim

“We congratulate him on the appointment and welcome his – the transition to a new chief of army staff,” Toner said while addressing a media briefing in Washington.

Referring to the country’s stance on counter-terrorism cooperation with Pakistan, Toner said the United States was working “quite closely” with Pakistan.

“They’re aware of some of our concerns, which include a safe haven for some terrorist groups that are active in the region,” he said, adding that Pakistan had also paid the price of terrorism.

Gen Bajwa formally welcomed as COAS at GHQ

“It’s in their interests, obviously, to crack down on any terrorist group that may be finding safe haven within its borders.”

On being asked to address concerns about people like the Ohio State University attacker Abdul Razak Ali Artan being trained in Pakistan, Toner said it was something that was still being probed.

The article does not mention about the Journalist asking the question, however, here it is how does it happened. Before few of our friends may come with an excuse and so-called copy paste lines like it is usual, might asked by a Pakistani Journo to get a reply for public consumption, feel good planted question etc, I would like to draw everyone's attention to the following clip from the same presser as an Eye Opener. It was not just an answer but for many that can understand, it is actually a message not on our behalf but to make sure that India has try more to make it like real or close to that.

It is not just done for the first time but has been happening in past whereby Indian journalist tries to be pretty smart and rather than doing some professional task, acted like a GoI representative with nothing but blames and assumptions (the assumption is clearly used in reply to the Journo). So, if still there is any sense left despite the several treatments in return, we can only pray for the quality in future which seems unlike to happen. Once again, a well deserved treatment in reply not from Pakistan etc but the US herself against a pathetic and mindset journalism.

U.S official stance on the appointment of any COAS would always be "welcoming" that's how the govt business is run ----

And for the Somalian episode being allegedly linked with Pakistani directors , well it requires us to introspect a bit and stop giving refuge to every lalo panju on the pretext of being Muslim ----- Afghanis have already cost us the Kuwaiti visa ban :enjoy:

Lately US is trying to go the extra mile in sending positive vibes to Pakistan but that train has long gone from our prepestive though one is never sure specially when leaders like Nawaz are in charge of the foreign policy. The best thing that could ever happen to Pakistan was US under Obama showing its true intentions w.r.t India and Pakistan and where her future interest lies with. This led Pakistan to explore the other camps as a result of which the ice between Pakistan and Russia melted. China is already on our side and with Gawadar kicking off, we really need to give US a cold shoulder like they deserve.
On terrorism it should be made clear that Pakistan would not accept unilateral condition and unwarranted pressure. With India been given a free hand to launch terrorism inside Pakistan and Pakistan being asked to do more. Nuclear issue should be a non starter. There is no need to have a nuclear discussion with the US to begin with on any matter what so ever no until they stop creating hurdles in our efforts to acquire the NSG membership. In fact US should endorse like they did with India. Until than no discussions.

On topic, it was a business as usual. Of course USA needs Pakistan but Pakistan does not need USA..and China and Russia are already a better option for Pakistan

:offpost:

Q: Write an essay about the ugliest journalist your ever saw in your life.

Ans:
I have seen many ugly reporters / journalists in various TV footages and media reports, but the ugly thing asking the question is comfortably the ugliest. Not only he is ugly and unclean to look at, he stinks which can be seem from the face expressions of the person sitting in the next row. Other than his looks, he fails in the department of speech... his horrible English, terrible accent compounded with ineloquence and stuttering makes for an atrocious listening experience; not only for humans and living organisms but even for the still-life. Thus the secretary interrupted him and answered and congratulated the new PA COAS on his appointment and gave him the time instead of putting any pressure.

This is how you get owned and b!tchslapped. Not an ounce of self-respect.

Now that you've shown your mettle under the extremely unfavorable conditions and came out successful, the US folks will negotiate...

Well this Indian reporter just .... really should not be in company of such delegates he should be reporting from a Pawn shop
