US government has forced the site hosting server to close down BrassTacks Think Tank - Official Website website.

It is very strange that Brasstacks is an independent Think Tank and there was nothing extra sensitive on its website except the very open programms with logical arguments.

All those who had listend Sir Zaid Hamid know the analysis presented by Zaid sahab is always backed by logical arguments.

Lets join hands all of you who had listened to Zaid Hamid sahab and who are convinced by his realistic analysis.

BrassTacks Think Tank - Official Website

Jana

have you more details? Who, What, Where, When and Why?

Shame shame shame. I can't believe that the government of the USA would do such a thing. (It doesn't seems like it).

Actually the host that they used was unprofessional phatto thats why they declined to further host the website.

I read elsewhere that it was the hosting company that closed it down -- it was claimed, for fear of Zionistas and El Nortenios (some nu band or something)

Let me explain why the entire website is not shut down beacsue the site is being hosted throughh two hosts one in Pakistan by COMSATS so the part being hosted through COMSATS server in Pakistan is working fine.

Site had got space for videos, blogs, discussion forums, research and policy papers, through a US based web hosting company.

The host company has shutdown the part of the site lending the THINK TANK in trouble disrupting its regular broadcasts and also lose of mailing list.

The site was closed down partialy by American web hosting company under government pressure.

Yes the site would soon be hosted through some other company in Pakistan.

but its such a shamful thing that it was closed down just beacuse some governments were too strong for the hosting company to stand up

Jana,
What else can we expect from US?

Do you have any evidence of this "governmental pressure" or are you just making this up? There seems to be far more inflammatory web hosting taking place in the US besides second rate think tanks which nobody cares about.

Also, are you sure that this wasn't because of the fact that there is already another brass tacks website being hosted by other US based servers?

Energone the fact that it was done under pressure can be found in your own post.
AS you said that there are far more inflammatory web hosting taking place in the US and also there are several think tanks thanks but these were not blocked.
One wonders as why a Pakistani purely Independent Think Thank was targeted.

There are reports that Brasstacks was and is being targted through other peacful means at the moment to get it closed forever.

The only reason one can come up is the open criticism by the Think Tank of policies of US, Pakistani rulers and dirty role being played by many players to disintegrate Pakistan.

Also, are you sure that this wasn't because of the fact that there is already another brass tacks website being hosted by other US based servers?

First of all how do you know that another US based server was hosting another brasstacks :)

And secondly i am dead sure that it is not the reason beacuse the one you had mentioned is part of the corporate sectore security managment site.

Here's what it says when I try to access the forums:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

Dear Friends,

We regret to announce that our foreign hosting provider has declined to host our discussion board and blogs site for fear of repercussions from the zionist lobby and American government. They have stated in an email to the BrassTacks IT Team that our site contains "sensitive political material" and they "do not want to get into trouble with the government" so they have decided to discontinue hosting our site.

Therefore, our blogs and discussion boards site will not be available until our IT Team sets up alternative arrangements.

Please continue to check back later.

While we are dissappointed at this interruption in the service, we are also happy to know that BrassTacks message and mission has created enough panic among them that they have quickly attempted to shut down our service. This is yet another proof of the importance of our work, and the usefulness of this material.

We wish to thank you for your continued support, and expect to have you guys with us again in a matter of a week.

Thank you

BrassTacks IT Team

The server guys probably didn't want that sort of material on their server. Nothing to do with Zionist nonsense.

I've seen far, far more risque stuff hosted on US servers

I have no idea what you're talking about. I have as yet to see any evidence showing that this Pakistani think tank is being "targeted" at all in the first place. There is absolutely nothing in my earlier post that indicates anything supportive of your hypothesis. Given that there are so many websites criticizing each and every aspect of the US government from their Iraq policy to the dirty water in their north lawn fountain, I find it hard to believe that anybody gives a hoot about some obscure Pakistani think tank.

There are reports that Brasstacks was and is being targted through other peacful means at the moment to get it closed forever.
This is what I was asking for. Can you please provide a link?

The only reason one can come up is the open criticism by the Think Tank of policies of US, Pakistani rulers and dirty role being played by many players to disintegrate Pakistan.
Again, I find it a bit hard to believe that anybody cares about what some obscure Pakistani think tank has to say about US foreign policy to go through all the hurdles of negating the first amendment of the US constitution.

First of all how do you know that another US based server was hosting another brasstacks :)
Are you kidding me? Because it's on the world wide web.
