US Chinooks over Karachi Today

It is pertinent to note that there is a US Carrier Group (Reagan) off the coast of Karachi/Pakistan currently.

This is the same silence that is on the Pakistani side too: no more talk about bases, or airspace or anything ill-thought-out PMIK or his cronies have said in the past. Nobody here is throwing Pakistan under the bus because no one in Pakistan is being allowed to paint USA as the evil one. For now.

Actually that can be easily explained by the US officials/media. They are all complaining about how there is no way to access Afghanistan from near by.
That's why you hear this phrase "Over the horizon capability". Also that post smells of 'whataboutism'...maybe it's just me. :enjoy:

Incorrect. She was and is a Pakistani citizen. She had a US green card for a period of time, that is all. US courts can try citizens of any country for crimes.

Actually, they are pretty special in in their abilities.
No dum dum, she is a US citizen.

Yes.... A true megacity of 20 million.
But the area we are discussing (Kati Pahari) is more of a ghetto/suburb, not the city center. Most cities in South Asia present the same picture when we move away from downtown.

I am sorry - but this Kati Pahari road is a disaster waiting to happen. The soil on both sides may not hold (depends of soil liquification and friction factors) and will have a landslide into the road at some point - unless it is hard igneous rock. They need to stabilize the slope, given how populated the area is. Sorry for the OT comment.

and why should we do that ?

do we have any shortage of nutcase extremists ?

Stop glorifying the wrong people. she made a choice , she should live with the consequences.

Allah will question you on the day of judgment InShaAllah!

There are millions of Pakistanis who consider Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari to be saints and leaders - there are millions who supported Swat Taliban and TTP in principle.. this is an unstable and extremist population section that isn’t going away.

“extremist population section”
The point for Pakistans existence is a Islamic state with shariah and Islam as state religion. We weren’t founded to be a secular country or another one of those so called “Muslim” countries. Did quiad e azam and all the religious scholars of the time fight for Pakistan just for us to sell our people to usa like how Musharraf sold afia?
Had Pakistan implemented shariah and taught islam properly to its population we wouldn’t have ttp type issue because people would know ttp is khawarij. Teach the population islam in schools from a young age so people won’t use islam to brainwash kids into becoming khawarij. Teach the requirements for jihad teach what khawarij is teach how to differentiate them in school and you’ll never see ttp or any similar group exist in Pakistan.

Pakistan was built on the name of Islam we were built to be a Muslim country with shariah and state religion as Islam. We were built to have a different system in the world to have a Islamic system not to follow western systems or British left systems.

When are you moving back from Canada jaani?

What’s the difference between Pakistan and India if Pakistan doesn’t have shariah?
Muslims in India have masjids they can pray 5 times a day and fast and read Quran they can do everything we can. So what’s the point of Pakistan if we don’t have shariah? And before anyone brings up Muslims being lynched by rss in India, Pakistan isn’t safer we see worse crimes committed here and even worse is it’s Muslims doing it to Muslims here.

If there is no shariah in Pakistan and no Islamic system than there’s no reason for the existence of Pakistan since we weren’t founded on nationalism or anything but we were founded on the name of Islam!
When are you moving back from Canada jaani?

when Pakistan gets shariah InShaAllah

When are you moving back from Canada jaani?

Had Pakistan implemented shariah we’d be thriving economically too and my family wouldn’t have to migrate to Canada.
If you lived through the violence that happened in Karachi in 90s and early 2000s and the bad economic situation you’d migrate the first chance you get
yet you live in Kafiristan. Are you a hypocrite?

Show me where in Islam it says living in a kaffir country is not allowed

Not at all. There is much activity behind the scenes at many levels ensuring that no one blurts out anything that might harm or inflame the delicate process going on, as has happened in the past about bases and other matters

No dum dum, she is a US citizen.

Instead of name calling you back, it is more satisfying to show this forum what an ignorant twit you are by showing the official court documents with a sworn statement of FBI Special Agent Mehtab Syed:

WASHINGTON: The Pentagon has decided to move an aircraft carrier from the Asia-Pacific region to the Middle East to support the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, The Wall Street Journal reported on Wednesday.
The USS Ronald Reagan, the only American aircraft carrier in Asia-Pacific, is currently based in Yokosuka, Japan.
The United States Naval Institute fleet tracker reported on May 22 that after completing its winter maintenance period in Yokosuka, USS Ronald Reagan would start its spring patrol and had left Japan last week.
It will operate in the Middle East for up to four months, WSJ reported.
Mr Biden unveiled plans last month to pull all US and coalition troops out of Afghanistan by Sept 11. Officials had said then they would keep a carrier and its accompanying ships in the area to provide security while the forces move out of Afghanistan.
The Department of Defence said on Monday that it was discussing various options with Afghanistan’s neighbours, including Pakistan, to maintain their access to Kabul even after the withdrawal. The options being discussed with neighbouring states include acquiring “basing facilities”, the Pentagon said.
At a recent congressional hearing, US Assistant Secretary of Defence for Indo-Pacific Affairs David F. Helvey told the Senate Armed Services Committee that “Pakistan has allowed us to have overflight and access to be able to support our military presence in Afghanistan”.
But Foreign Office spokesperson Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri told journalists in Islamabad earlier this week that “there is no US military or air base in Pakistan, nor was any such proposal envisaged. Any speculation on this account is baseless and irresponsible and should be avoided”.
The issue of having access to Afghanistan after the pullout resurfaced at a news briefing on Monday.
“Is there anything that the US is looking for right now from Pakistan in terms of what happens after the (US) withdrawal (from Afghanistan) is complete?” a journalist asked.
“I don’t have any specific updates in terms of the potential for overseas bases there, after our withdrawal. These are obviously diplomatic discussions that are ongoing and are clearly not complete,” Pentagon press secretary John F. Kirby replied.
