and most of the deals only came to surface after few years.Unless you can prove many major purchases of Chinese weaponry has had quality control issues, then your point does not stand. If anything, Chinese weaponry has better reliability/QC than that of Russia as a whole. Otherwise, why would it secure multi billion dollar arms deals with Pakistan or Thailand just to name a few, let alone other international clients? Chinese weaponry isn't cheap these days either ... this is not the 80s/90s.
The problem with Japanese equipment is that they are excruciatingly expensive since a lot of their equipment is outfitted with American subsystems, which they have to pay for. Due to this, they charge a hefty premium on their weaponry, which is one of the key reasons why despite easing their export rules in 2014, they have not really sold anything.Japan has the potential to break the top ranking. They will start to export their warships soon and they have export-oriented 6th gen fighter development in place.
