US-Bangla Airlines has decided to buy four more aircraft; three Boeing 737- 800 and one DASH 8-Q400 soon.

The private flag carrier is expected to buy these aircraft by late August and enter commercial operation by September, said the airlines Deputy General Manager (DGM) M Kamrul Islam in a statement.

He said US-Bangla Airlines has planned to operate flights to Kolkata, Paro, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok, Doha, Muscat, Dammam, Dubai and Kunming.

The Boeing 737-800 aircraft have Business Class, Super Economy and Economy class seats with 156 seats in total.

US-Bangla Airlines currently has three DASH 8-Q400 aircraft.

Expressing gratitude to all in marking the milestone, Managing Director of US-Bangla Airlines Mohammed Abdullah Al Mamun said "We shall avail all opportunities not only to retain our present market share but to expand our operation in international sectors."

"We are absolutely dedicated to passenger satisfaction and we hope we will reach our goal," he added.

Since its inception two years ago, US-Bangla Airlines received a positive market response and presently holds a major share of the traffic in domestic routes and one regional Dhaka-Kathmandu route.

In two years, US-Bangla has achieved "Best Airline of the Year-2015 in Domestic Sector" by Bangladesh Monitor and "Best Domestic Airline of Year-2014 and 2015" by the Travelers Forum, according to a news agency.

Good for them.... The demand is there as proved by all the foreign airlines operating in BD. Biman is hopeless, it is ruined by red tape, corruption and political football. It is up to the private sector to establish market share. Any BD airline that can provide comparable service to the likes of Emirates will immediately capture the market as BD will fly their own airlines. The middle eastern airlines uses their old and crappy planes to service the BD route as they primarily transport workers. However these "workers" pay the same as anyone else. It's a disgrace. Any airline can do better than the poor service/fleet currently deemed acceptable in the BD market.... The reason is simple the customers have no alternative ..... Best of luck US-Bangla airline

US - Bangla and Novo Air is doing very well so far. They have potential. Let's just hope they don't ruin it like many other did.

Yes I agree. They are currently the best 2 private carriers in Bangladesh. Even Regent Airways look like they are losing ground to these 2 new comers. But what I hope is, US-Bangla and Novoair should not be over ambitious like GMG. They can expand their fleet slowly and maybe introduce widebodied aircraft like Boeing 777 or A330s at least.

What is the split between biman and private companies in BD aviation sector currently?

The private airlines should better try other routes instead of only sharing the same regional routes. However, it must start with the ME markets where we have many millions of our own people.

At first they need to change this stupid name.US-Bangla, Saudi-Bangla,Arab-Bangla only indicate severe lack of imagination on part of many among us.

Domestic passenger mainly by local private carrier.International passenger I think, around two-third by foreign carrier and only one-third by Biman and local private carrier.

Without huge investment, no airlines can survive only by selling tickets. Most big airlines make losses in tickets but make profit in buying and selling aircraft. Smaller airlines like US-Bangla are just picking the throwaway of the the big carriers.

I agree with this. 'US-Bangla' is not a very presentable name for marketing outside Bangladesh. They should re-invent themselves with a new age name like 'Allegiant' or even a semi- Bengali sounding name. And the watermelon logo needs to go as well. They have grown up and their identity needs to reflect it.

Even Regent Air has a better logo....

What about just use a total Bengali/Sanskrit word....like say Uranta (flying) with maybe a play on it combining with something else.

But those middle eastern officials worships any shit with western label on it. Might give them extra cookies for just having the 'US' on it. :sarcastic:

Anyway US - Bangla has good service. I don't care about their name, though it sounds like a bus service then an airline.
