Your ally was actively losing territory, you were bound by mutual defense treaty to come and help them. Instead you ran away, just like you did with Georgia in 2008 and Ukraine in 2014.

Why does an adult cry constantly about being bullied by kids? Whether it is hacking, the South China Seas island-building, or anything else... it's just a constant stream of crying about regional powers (kids) like China and Russia.

There was no excuse for America abandoning their mutual defense treaty with the Philippines. None. It's just a case of an adult crying and running away from a kid (regional power).

Two things are of interest. One that China is filing a complain only for the intrusion into the 12nm territorial air space, that China is not as some might say claiming the entire South China Sea, but rather the islands within. Secondly, the US statement that it was not a planned intrusion into the 12nm air space is reinforcing the facts on the ground of the territorial claim by China over these island along the same line as the claimed innocent passage by the Pentagon within the 12nm territorial water.
