US asks India to raise cap FDI in defence to 49%

.
i think that is a gud suggestion to have 49% FDI.....also please note that our ordnance factories have been doing nothing in last 60 years...no R&D no improvement.....just sitting like a lass and counting hours ...on government job....

my friend works in ordnance and he himself says its a pity in ordnance factories.....30-40% of their production is rejected by armed forces just because it doesnt meet the standards....

indian government should support and encourage private players to get involved in defence....just like in USA...

.
I dont think that gets carried forward...or do they? Can somebody enlighten us on this?

No it doesn't. This is a major concern, since our weapon procurement process is so slow, that allocated money does not get utilized. So more money needs to be allocated in the next budget to buy new items and still process the old ones. More money needn't always mean more weaponry.

But the good things is, now that India involves private companies to join in, this would ensure more jobs, better transparency and even better accountability!
