The Air Force will station a squadron of CV-22 Ospreys in Japan beginning in 2017, the Defense Department announced Monday.

The first three tilt-rotor aircraft will arrive at Yokota Air Base in the second half of 2017, with another seven expected to arrive by 2021, according to the Pentagon. The Ospreys, flown by Air Force Special Operations Command, will "provide increased capability" for special operators to respond to crises in Japan.

In addition to responding to natural disasters, the aircraft will "increase interoperability" and strengthen relationships with the Japan Self-Defense Forces, the department said in a statement.

The Air Force Ospreys will join Marine Corps MV-22s already stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Futenma near Okinawa. These Ospreys have been a point of contention with local residents, who have protested the aircraft over worries about the aircraft's noise and possible mishaps.

The Air Force also is in the midst of sending a squadron of Ospreys to Royal Air Force Mildenhall in England. The service currently has 33 of the aircraft primarily used for long-range special operations missions.

Tell me what is your feeling about American militant presence in your own country, @Nihonjin1051

You're talking to a guy who served in the JMSDF, operated and trained with American servicemen from the US Navy, as well as US Marine Corp. Politics, Economics aside, I believe that the Japanese-American Alliance is crucial for the stability of Northeast Asia.

Right now, in this unpredictable world, region, the strong bond Japanese and American military personnel have with each other is beneficial for both our national interests.

Does that mean that I believe US military should always be in Japan? Until the region stabilizes, yes. Do i believe that US military will move their bases out of the country in the future? Yes. Should they, in the future when the region stabilizes? Yes. Right now? Again, only until the region stabilizes.

US will sell Japan to China for a good price(When China gain more strength or card), like they did in 2013 ADIZ (Easter China sea) event.

Ganbare

Maybe in your dreams.

Might I suggest a recourse?

Extinction (psychology)

As for the discussion on China, Japan or anyone else's ADIZ, its nothing more than a formal way of asking people to let you know they are in the area. It does not equate sovereignty and should not be presented as a nation extending its territorial claims. Otherwise Japan would lay claim to all of the East China Sea. It doesn't.

CAN YOU FIND ANY PHOTO THAT JAPANESE PLANE WITH DIAOYU ISLAND AFTER 2013?:-)

Do Japan and US airlines identify themselves to China before enter in the ADIZ?:-)

The JASDF and the JMSDF patrol regularly our sovereign territory, Senkaku Shoto. Not to mention there is a JGSDF garrison in the Senkaku-Shoto.
