Just out of curiosity, were they a pain in the *** to work with and train? I've talked to a few friends that came back from Afghanistan and said that there were some really good guys, but most of the forces were lazy as shizznit.
The article mentions that it'll take about 10 years for the force to be fully prepared, that's a long time and I doubt they have the luxury of time on their side.
Thank You so much for this post Sir
I had the pleasure to meet a Captain who served as a trainer in Afghanistan. He told me that most of the recruits were usually high on Hashish or on something most of the time. Did you experience something like that?
well, all I can say is, there are always bad bugs in any group, and we do have a different lifestyle then them and a different education background to them. What perceive as lazy or stupid could have been a product of cultural different. They don't think smoking hash is a problem as many of them do for a long while. And there are some thing we all think it's plain, simple and easy they do not understand because they do not process our education level. You can teach a soldier how to shoot, how to squat in 3 months but you cannot teach him how to think or how to write in that time. Sometime what you do is you simply need to make do.
However, almost all of the time there are people who are mature enough to help you all along, so all I can say is all hope is not lost.
