Upcoming and newly launched cars from Chinese car companies: Ed 3

I thought hongqi are reserved marque for the party officials? @Kai Liu
Previously, Hongqi focused more on government uses by making cars like this:

Now they have changed their strategy by offering a lot of models for ordinary masses, and they are doing very well:

is there any stats on sales, how much they have in china's car market pie??

.
Not very much due to Hongqi's positioning at the high-end and the price, they are still trying to catch up. But Hongqi is growing fast.
Here is a table showing sales from Chinese brands (Foreign brand or joint venture sales are not included):
From top to the bottom: SAIC, GEELY, Changan, Dongfeng, Great Wall, BAIC, Chery, FAW, BYD, JAC, GAC, and a few others. Hongqi sales (slightly over 100,000) are included in the FAW sales. Unit is in '万' or 10,000:

SAIC is on the top for years, last year they achieved ~3 million sales. Geely is second, it has over 2 million annual sales if VOLVO sales are included.

To be honest, most of these cars have a shitty design. It is like they took the design of Ford, BMW, Tesla but want to change a little bit to distinquish, but ends up still looking like a knoff off.

What is wrong with chinese car designer...

The only two brands, which have indiginous design are NIO, Byton (Which is realy cool) and Faraday Future.

The problem is the world is running out of designs. Same designers, same design languages, cars are look more and more like the same nowadays:

You really need some radical or revolutionary designs like for example, the Faraday Future, etc....to be distinguished from the established designs...

The man spent too much time talking about investments, divestments and other sh*t, and too little working on the assembly line. That's the fate of people too keen on copying from Americans.

It is not easy for those start-up companies to succeed today. They face fierce competition from traditional car makers and established EV makers such as BYD and Tesla... Getting enough investor money is also a problem for them.

I think the Chinese brands were smart to not try to export their cars too early like what Hyundai did back in the 80s. I had an ex-gf who said when she was a kid, her mom was broke and she was forced to buy a Hyundai and in the first year the steering wheel came off while she was driving it. LOL

Hyundai had a horrible reputation for decades and even to this day it is seen as a budget brand even though its quality is right up there with anybody else.

The 80's Hyundai Excels were laughably bad. So much so that they still carry a bad stigma with older people even today.

What my father tend to say "get money first, think second"

Begging moneys from investors when you don't have anything at hand first looks not only stupid to me, it looks pitiful. Honestly, he looked like a conman to me from the start.

With money he got, he could've made a mid-tier car factory 10 times over, but nevertheless ventured on doing god knows what with them.
