I think they used mainly Stinger and Anza series.

At the cost of possible escalation not factored in planning by Musharraf.

Inspite of blatant violation of its borders, IAF was tasked to carry out its operations remaining within the Indian territory. Had any more act of aggression been employed by Pakistan by using AD or PAF then escalation ladder wasn’t far away.

Things were complicated for these batteries to be used. PAF chief was not in loop when kargil started so they were ill prepared. In the 90's PAF was at the weakest point, secondly shooting down and IAF plane in Indian held Kashmir would have gone against the narrative. Our politicians failed to build a narrative abroad as well.
