Unofficial results for Karachi LB polls trickle in — JI, PTI & PPP Karachi chiefs fail to win

KARACHI: Following days of electioneering, canvassing and political debates, the day for local bodies election in Karachi came to an end and vote count in the polling stations is underway, ARY News reported.

The polling began at 7.30am and ended 5.30pm without any break.

The election were held in six districts of Karachi – District Central, District West, District Korangi, District East, District South and District Malir.

In Karachi, there were 209 union committees and 38 union councils. Voters in urban areas of Karachi will elect 1,210 members while those in rural areas will vote for 304 seats in 38 union councils.

Main parties contesting the polls were Muttahida Qaumi Movement, the Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami. While the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl, the Awami National Party and the Pakistan


Rah-e-Haq Party (faction of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat), had also fielded their candidates.

According to Election Commission of Pakistan, as many as 48 candidates have returned unopposed in all 247 union committees and councils. Eighteen candidates have been elected unopposed in District Central, followed by 13 in West, nine in South, six in Malir and two in East.

The ECP had declared 1,791 polling st
ations out of total 4,141 as highly sensitive. Only 234 polling stations in the city were declared normal.

The Sindh government had deployed 35,057 police personnel, 7,400 Rangers soldiers and 10 army companies each with 80 soldiers in the city to maintain peace and order on polling day.

I am from rawalpindi and my relatives told me that all over the city people got pre-stamped votes from Pmln in their letter boxes. People were bussed to the polling stations. This is how Noora win elections every time

I knew MQM is gonna lead, but with this many seats wasn't expected. Hopefully, no one will complain about chaos in Karachi MQM created.

I am from rawalpindi and my relatives told me that all over the city people got pre-stamped votes from Pmln in their letter boxes. People were bussed to the polling stations. This is how Noora win elections every time

please ask them to give those votes to Media houses... and Transport was also given by PTI in Islamabad no big deal they had many Cars waiting for people for nearby houses they even call them to come so that they can be taken to Polling Stations.... Plus at Polling Stations they gave a Lunch box of Pulao (Savour Food)

If you have a family of 8 people or more they send 2 Honda City to pick you up from Home to Polling Stations and drop you back home and if you have 2 or 3 Members there's a Toyota Hiace Hi Roof that'll come to pick you up and drop you back.....

Every Party Distributed Slips(Parchi) on which it was mentioned name of Counselor and Chairmen name with pic and Signs in Addition it had Your name Address Vote number (silsila Number) Phone Number and ID card number each slip for every Family Member of the house that gonna cast a vote.... May be your Relatives got those Slips which was given by every Party candidate even Independent ones to as they have voter lists with them....

Wrong here MQM didnt created chaos .. Those who wished to concur karachi did .. A Look at ANP's shahi syed past he was of the same opinion but when he was cornered by TTP and jihadi maggots it was than he realised the real

o Bhai those were just slips that mentions about your Vote number area of Polling station and which one you gonna cast a vote your name etc PTI PMLN PPP Independent candidates everyone distribute that.... that has no value when you cast a vote tore it or throw it.. you don't have to put that in a ballot box.... Ask your relatives they would have done the same to those slips
