Unity of command in police important for better performance : Corps Commander Karachi

Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Shahid Baig Mirza said on Thursday that unity of command in the provincial police department is important and there should be consistency in the serving terms of personnel within the force for achieving better performance.

Visiting Malir Cannt to inspect police training along with IG Sindh A.D Khawaja and GOC Malir Major General Zahid, he said that the recent police training has set new standards for the personnel.

He said that the role of Karachi police in bringing peace in the metropolis is commendable, adding that due to the sacrifices rendered by the department, peace has returned to the city.

What this means is that Police should be allowed to exist and run as a department on their own,
and quit the political master slave relationships.

Karachi police should be individual organization under the command of IG without any political influence, and IG should be under the command of corps commander Karachi & chief Minister Sindh. (under both military & politically at the same time)
