Shocked to read the comments on the thread criticizing the reporter and the informant as opposed to condemning the army. The Dawn expose made it crystal clear that ISI has been supporting terrorists and confirmed to the whole world what India has been saying for a decade now. Should'nt you as Pakistanis be condemning the ISI for that practice instead of shooting at the messenger?

not at all. Dawn clearly said they stand by the report and that they have unimpeachable sources. Which is why your military has not been able to do anything against them in this case. The proof must have been so strong that they even couldn't stop Almeida being removed from ECL.

O yaar, the journalist was not present in the meeting. The feed was given to him by some ministers who have some other motives against Army. That's why Dawn said that they stand by with the story because it came from some participants.
So he was allowed to go abroad as he is not guilty of anything. He published what was provided to him.

You don't know about the politics behind this story. Our government thinks that Army is behind IK and that's why its trying to malign armed forces. That's it.

Important thing is there should be end of these security breachers always escaping after breaches. Of course govt is not going to do that any time. Only Army has to take step. Army said it was a security breach not govt. There must be some end to countinues compromises.

It DoEsnt matter what Dawn says, it doesnt matter what Cyril says...There are telephonic recordings and whatsapp conversations that prove those few govt. officials planting this fake leak.
Still i believe there was nothing wrong to keep Cyril home and on ECL till investigations were done. This practice happens everywhere but you know our medias randi rona on getting him on ECL and ofcourse the pressure from US embassy.

Journalist was only provided with a fake story. He did his job by publishing it in the newspaper and that's it.

It was a wrong news that was fed, not a leak.

Pure political motive.

Government thinks that PA is behind IKs current strategy to weaken government although Army has categorically made it clear to the government that it is in no mode of interfering in any affairs. So there was a rift and the result is in front of all of us.

Could be building blocs to a conversation; but at the end it is based upon a classified conversation that could have actually changed the course of Pakistan's history. Now it is a matter of pride for both sides simply because some fool in the civillian setup wanted to score points.
