Well, it's not only Pakistan all subcontinental habitants has same DNA, they don't like walk neither think about fitness.
When Pakistan is in question, suddenly the whole continent has the same DNA, otherwise, there hasn't been a purer race or whatever to have lived than Pakistanis? While I agree that we're the same breed, most Pakistanis deny any links with Indians.

There's a difference between bodybuilding and exercising. Where I come from, walking is advocated as one of the best forms of exercising

Can't agree with that one.

Low intensity exercise like walking hardly makes a difference, an obese American can walk everywhere for his entire life and still die as an obese man.

We are not talking about bodybuilding either, we are talking about strength training, and high intensity interval training which is cardio.

A good way to tell if you are exercising hard enough is when you are either sweating heavily or you can't sing the words to a song.

Regular walking isn't high intensity enough, unless you are wearing a weighted backpack and walking uphill. As long as it is pushing your body then it will work.

I'm going to agree with this, Pakistan (people) are quite lazy.

. . .
Actually that is correct, we as a whole nation are really very lazy.
I myself can't move without a car, my market is some 200m away where we all friends get together, i even go there on my car.

I hope we had a bicycle culture.

Brisk walking has more benefit than a treadmill or a bicycle, similar to the benefits of swimming

You can turn those low intensity cardio exercises into HIIT by adding a sprinting component, like swimming as fast as you can for a good period of time.

The thing is, I see plenty of overweight people who do a lot of walking, and a lot of other low intensity exercises. And they are still overweight, because low intensity exercises make you hungry while burning low amounts of calories. In the end it's a net calorie gain, unless they have good eating control.

The best thing overall in my opinion is strength training. You get stronger muscles, bones, joints, not to mention a stronger central nervous system. Having more heavy muscle means that you naturally burn calories faster. So many things in life get easier when your body is stronger.

This is not bodybuilding by the way, even though they use the same techniques, bodybuilding is more about aesthetics.

Study only determines "laziness" in the part of the populations that own smartphones.
