UN removes five Taliban from blacklist

I think you got wrong.......the afghan taliban where against mixed education of boys and girls in the same school and not against girls education.

I think you got it wrong, the taliban were totally against the girl's education, mix or not mix didnt matter to them. There was no any SINGLE girls' school in their area of control, women werent allowed to go to work, women werent allowed to go to universtiy, even little girls at primary school werent allowed to go to school. It is worth to note that even the boys school/uni had the lowest of low quality. Girls education was kinda illegal activity which went underground and families used to hire teachers secretly to teach their daughters in small numbers at their homes, probably selling of hashesh and heroine were less of a crime than girls' ecuation. Here is something for you to read from BBC: Until recently, girls in Afghanistan were denied the right to go to school.

Under the Taleban rule, from 1996 to 2001, female education was banned. Women and girls were excluded from all aspects of Afghan educational life, from primary school to university.

The government closed all of the girls' schools in the country and prevented female teachers from working.

Many parents feared that their daughters would grow up illiterate. Some girls were secretly educated in their homes by parents and teachers; others attended underground schools.

The majority of the leadership of the taliban where well educated and where not against people getting an education.

May I ask which one of them had which education and where they were educated?

Note: my sisters and cousins used to go to these underground schools as that was the only and only hope and opportunity for them to get some education.

They also closed all the boys school......but there was reason.
The taliban where going through the process of setting up a new education structure and wanted to get rid of everything that had been taught before and inject there own ideology into the population.

May I ask which one of them had which education and where they were educated?

May i ask what level of education you want them to have and if you accept that you can be educated in non western countries.

Note: my sisters and cousins used to go to these underground schools as that was the only and only hope and opportunity for them to get some education.

It was the same for the boys also.

No my friend, they didnt close the boys' school. boys school as well as uni were open except for the girls. What you say is a shock to me, they were going through a process? what process? before the taliban came to power all the schools had islamic subjects, and now you want to tell me they wanted to get rid of those material?

May i ask what level of education you want them to have and if you accept that you can be educated in non western countries.

You said majority of their leadership were educated and I asked you what was their education? Can you tell me about 5-10 of their leaders' education?

It was the same for the boys also.

No, the boys used to go to school, there was no any restriction, and dont tell me that i dont know as I was living under the taliban controal in their area of control for many years, i have tasted their government first hand.

. .
Well fisrt of all these are ex-Taliban. They owe their allegiance to the current government in Afghanistan unlike Haqqni or Mullah Omar groups. This should have been done along timeback btw.

Exactly, they have accepted the consitiution of Afghanistan, 2 of them are respected members of parliament and as a matter of fact they are serving their country with their good work in parliament. they are great people and their names should have been removed long long ago, dont know why they waited until now.

They did close boys school......just like they did not close every single girls school in one day it was the same thing for the boys.

Why dont you google it?

So you must have tasted the freedom the warlords gave you before the taliban came into power?

Come on man, they might have closed the boys school for a few months temporarily, but they re opened it. The girls' schools were all closed, and if you have any proof for your claims then present it otherwise i am not gona respond anymore.

Why dont you google it?

I dont need to google it, because i know they were uneducated, but if you insist they had education then please present the proof to me.

So you must have tasted the freedom the warlords gave you before the taliban came into power?

Yes, i have tasted every evil in Afghanistan including the Mujahideen rule. The mujahideen were not any better, but at least they have laied their weaopon down and have started a non military life with the exception of Gulbudin, but the Talibani Warlords are still killing people.

Maulvi Kalamadin insisted it was only a temporary suspension and that females would return to school and work once facilities and street security were adapted to prevent cross-gender contact

Asia Times Online: People say that the Taliban government is against education for women, and women in general. Is that true?

Kakazada: How can this be possible? Education is given to girls to the age of 12. We had planned to expand this for adult girls, too. But the US has attacked us and smashed our designs. We are also not against women coming out from their homes. It is their right, but they should cover themselves properly because it is Islam. The West raised slogans about women's freedom and their equal rights. I ask them, have they given equal representation to their women in parliament or in jobs? Has there ever been a woman president in American history? If not, then why do they challenge our intentions. They should first introduce reforms in their own set-up according to their rhetoric, and then demand us to introduce the equal rights. Basically, Western societies want too much liberty for women for their evil designs.http://www.atimes.com/c-asia/CJ18Ag02.html

So you have no proof in other word that the taliban leadership where not educated.

So the civil war in Afghanistan that led to the rise of the taliban was fought with no weapons?......and hekmatyar was the only one carring a gun, your fomer prime minister.

There are only five Taliban members who have been removed from the Blacklist, all of them prominent and none of them in the ANA. SO I think you are confused about what you were trying to say or have misunderstood what I said.
