ULFA faction chief to cadres: ‘collect funds, strike targets’
VijaitaSingh : New Delhi, Mon Jul 16 2012, 00:24 hrs

The anti-talk faction of the banned United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) is reported to have told its cadres to “collect funds” for its various operations and also speed up the plan for carrying out blasts in various parts of the region”. The security agencies have intercepted conversation between their leader Paresh Baruah, who is into hiding presently, and at least three other members of the outfit to “expedite work on both the orders”.

“We have received specific intelligence regarding Baruah’s conversation with three leaders of the group where he is pressurising them to arrange funds by means of extortion and other means so that the activities of the organisation could go on smoothly,” said a senior security official.

Following the input, the security at all vital installations in the region, including the airports, has been stepped up.

“Baruah is exerting pressure on its leaders Babu Gogoi, Raktajit Hazarika and Rupantar Kakoti to carry out more blasts with Improvised Explosive Device (IED’s) on targets which have been already selected,” said the official.

Gogoi and Kakoti are hardcore members of the outfit and are trying to revive the terror activities in the region by extorting money from businessmen.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has sent a circular to all security agencies after the Intelligence Bureau (IB) intercepted the message last week. Baruah is said to be handling the faction’s operations from Myanmar.

“There is a desperate attempt by the group to revive itself and make its presence felt in the region,” said the official. “Regular checks are being conducted to prevent further attacks,” added the official.

Myanmar Army closing in on NE ultra camps

GUWAHATI, July 5 – Some movements of personnel of the Myanmar Army have been noticed in the areas where most of the militant groups of North East have their bases in the neighbouring country in recent times. However, no operation has yet been launched against the militants.
Highly placed official sources told The Assam Tribune that according to information available with the security agencies, Myanmar Army personnel have moved closer to the camps of the militant groups. During the last visit of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh to Myanmar, the Government of that country assured to take action against the militant groups taking shelter in that country. Sources said that the Myanmar Army had asked the militants to move out of the area, but as per information available with the security agencies, none of the militant outfits moved out of the area so far.

It may be mentioned here that most of the militant groups of the North East, including the hardline faction of the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA), have strong bases in Myanmar. In fact, the mobile military headquarter of the hardline faction of the ULFA is located in Myanmar. Sources, however, said that Paresh Baruah has not visited the camps of the outfit in the Taga area of Myanmar for some time and he is in Ruilie in Myanmar-China border.

On the activities of the ULFA in Assam, sources said that there have been intelligence inputs about attempts by the hardline faction of the ULFA to strike before the Independence Day celebrations and the police and security forces have been alerted to thwart any such attempt. Sources revealed that the militants, who are now in Assam, have been directed to indulge in acts of violence, but their movements have been curbed due to operations by police and security forces in upper Assam districts.

BAM!!

ULFA is for close strategic and commercial ties with BD. They even seek open border with us.

The reason why ULFA even came into existence is their hate towards illegal bangladeshi refugees/immigrants.

Do you know how Indian government gets them to lay down their arms ?

We promise them stricter border protection. Their hate towards bangladeshis is well past your usual 'racism'.

ULFA ?? :lol::lol::lol:

Idiot Bangadeshi found nothing else but dead ULFA

Now even your master China cant help them

Bangladeshis in India need to face some serious consequences now....Its time to dump them all into Bay of Bangladesh:lol: and craete a new nation called as BanglaAss..where China can make a new port to attack India....

Now to all if this sounds wet dream then, whatever Bangladeshi's are thinking is soaked with frustration then and nothing less than wet dream too:lol:

Ignorant Bangladeshi who was Claiming about ULFA's love for Bangladesh ( Exact opposite reason why it was created) now will come up with something else so that guys in this thread overlook his epitome of Ignorance regarding Geo-political issues .

YOu are delusional. ULFA does not have any problem with Bengalis. Infact they protected Bengalis at the time of Babri Massacre. They came out openly to protect Bengali community in Assam. ULFA wants nothing but freedom of Assam. And ULFA did not lay down arms. Where did you get these?

Freedom loving Assamese and North easterners will get their independence without a doubt. Its just a matter of time. ULFA never got complete and substantial material support from either BD, PAK or china. Its only their will power, popular support and fighting for a just cause that kept them in track of their goal. An independent NE is in the interest of all asia and specially for china, BD and PAK.
