The sane minds in the West are actually happy for India and China to buy Russian oil at a discount. If Russian oil gets totally taken out of the market, India and China will be competing against Europe to buy Saudi and Iraqi oil and drive up the price of the gas at the pump for American and European consumers.

The existing arrangement is a win win for the West and China/India. Russian oil revenue is being cut because they have to sell at a discount and the price of oil for European and American buyers is also lower because India and China are buying less oil from the Gulf.
