The UK government has re-approved a license to deliver “a new munitions capability” to Saudi Arabia, according to documentation released by the Department of International Trade (DIT) in October.

The DIT stated that, in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, the government approved licences to export GBP836 million (USD1,107 million) in military items to Saudi Arabia. It said that “around GBP800 million” of this was related to “the delivery, over a number of years, of a new munitions capability” that was originally approved in Q3 2015, but not fully utilised.

GBP1,080 million in military exports to Saudi Arabia was approved in Q3 2015.
