UK Hotel Complains Air India Staff Taking Away Food Stuffed In Boxes

@Godman @supun1

Those pics of this clown posted of the Kaffir community, Veddah's and the Lankan and Indian origin Tamils are nothing to be ashamed of, They are as Lankan as anyone else and are genuine human beings with honest lives.. Cannot even be compared to petty thieves and jokers with chips on their shoulders going at lengths to justify thievery that bruise their delusional ego's

Not to mention it has nothing to do with the subject matter of the thread, which is stealing food by Indian airline crew

Realize how silent the more erudite senior Indian posters are on this thread ? Speaks volumes.. Just sit back and enjoy the entertainment

I know. Its funny when he say Indian tamils are ugly when they well directly from India, Indians also have their own Kaffirs

Just because an ape wears a dress, it does not make her look any prettier or her children any more human or civilised. Children of desperate horny white sailors ended up more ape than white.

Again it comes back to poor India not having enough money to fund a quality education system.

Educate yourself.

Humans are apes, they just one species within the ape family.

Your sentence does not make any sense.

You still haven't told us where the $142 Billion come from. :sarcastic:

‘They take away buffet food in boxes,’ UK Hotel slams Air India Crew

Air India was left in a sorry state when the management of Hotel Renaissance London wrote an email to the airlines stating that some of its crew members regularly came down for breakfast with empty boxes into which they filled food items from the buffet to take away. This email would have definitely left the airlines in a sorry state.

A warning note with the title, ‘A buffet is not a takeaway’, was sent by an assistant general manager (AGM) of the in-flight service department.

It said, “We have received an unfortunate email from the management of hotel in London stating that some AI crew members regularly went down for breakfast with empty boxes into which they filled food items from the buffet, presumably to eat later.”

The letter also stated that they are ‘aware that it can be small minority which is indulging in such behaviour’ but it would still be forced to take serious disciplinary action against the offenders.

“Initially this letter appears to be fake because an AGM-grade officer is not authorised to send a circular that has pan India implications. We are investigating the issue,” an Air India spokesperson told media.

Sorry to spoil your premature celebration...there is already a thread opened on this!

Hotel is not doing any one favor they are only saving their contract. Its high time hotel stopped the patronizing behavior and confront the individuals. Simple reason they dont want to do it is bcos they might end up losing the contract.

Front desk staff usually don't go up into confrontation, because it will damage both the client/customer and themseleves. Front desk staff and Flight Attendant are train to avoid confrontation, meaning they will report back the sitaution to higher up but not intervene in real time.

This is not just becuase of Air India and their contract, I mean, who want to make a big entrace on some small stuff and potentially scare off eventual customer?

Indian airlines is not responsible in what workers do outside the office or non-working hours. Hotel has to confront the individual not the company. On the other hand the airlines employees have to take up the matter with airlines to provide them packaged food or reimbursement for breakfast instead of taking it from hotel.

One would expect the staff of your national carrier to be trained on universally recognized decorum, I mean this aint some domestic Indian airline now is it ?

There is no way a hotel can "detain" a customer for taking food away from the buffet. At best they can ask the customer not to do it.

So the question is why did they not do it ?

There is no "loss of face" for Air India or anyone here. Just a negotiating tactic by the hotel seeking more compensation.

They can, in most common law juridiction, dine and dash is a criminal offense as oppose to civil matters, because to dine and dash, you have the intention to defraud the restaurant to begin with. Unlike petty theft, where you may or may not intent to do it.

Since this is a criminal offense as oppose to civil matter, civil arrest is probable in this case. It is the same as you steal soemthing in a mall or any retail store, the store employee have the right to detain you and wait for the Law Enforcement to arrive

It is up to the descrpency of the Hotel Management, most usually just confiscate your food and charge you for it, but I know for a fact some 5 stars hotel do call the police for such customer, again, do it or not is up to the management discretion.

hilarious to see some ultra nationalists defending the "buffet stealers".
nobody told these guys that too much nationalism (too much of anything) is bad for your intellectual capacity.
those morons are busy soiling indias reputation abroad, and the above mentioned "nationalists" are going a step ahead defending the hungry morons

Lets not insult hungry people. There is a very big difference between HUNGER, and GREED.

This is correct.

Not only do some of our indian posters here not realise it that taking food away from a buffet venue atually amounts to theft(thus, constituting a crime), but also feel it is even ok to do so just because they have paid for the buffet course itself- ignorantly or arrogantly(the latter is more likely).

Thus, the Air India airline crew are not only cheapskates- but also criminals.

i apologize.
my bad.
actually u know what, its neither hunger nor greed. its the great indian "jugaad" in play here.

The way how some Indian members talk. I won't be surprised if they are the perverts. No wonder any smart Indians would leave India. All the top quality Indian executives are in the west. Any smart Indian would leave India, leaving behind only the undesirables.

In a buffet, it's called stealing if they don't pay for it on top of the meal itself.

Lolz this is true lmao , but who will tell them that ? :P

Airline workers are not slaves , on duty they are representing company but off duty they are individuals whose actions are not reflective of company's values or ethics. Only organizations like police or positions of public interest are subject to criticism. Even there individual digressions unless being criminal are not open to scrutiny.
There is no way you can hold them any of your defined standards where you enforce them on your whims & fancies.

Would you expect the off duty hotel staff treat the same way when they are not working on premises?
Let the hotel confront the individually. If the hotel did so , airline staff would not have indulged in it. The hotel maintained a criminal silence for their own benefit. They encouraged it and only when they started feeling the pinch they reported it.

Front desk staff usually don't go up into confrontation, because it will damage both the client/customer and themseleves. Front desk staff and Flight Attendant are train to avoid confrontation, meaning they will report back the sitaution to higher up but not intervene in real time.

Nope , here Individual does not represent the company off duty. Front desk does not need to physically confront the ppl, they can leave a note in their room. Customers will be more appreciative of hotels which make rules clear than douche bags who complain behind their backs. Backbiting does no good for any of them.

Damage has already been done, do you think you will go to a hotel where they talk behind your back or politely inform you upfront?

"some small stuff and potentially scare off eventual customer?"
Then why should they even bother about it. As I said hotel is not doing any favor. They know there are other hotels which will gladly accommodate such things if a request is made. Actually it will save them more money to give fixed amount of food as break fast and also free up tables for other customers.

Service industry has set standards but companies which go beyond that are the one which attract customers.
