Reminds me of the stories regarding the 60s riots in Karachi between Pathans and Biharis..
Apparently the joke goes that Pathans and Biharis made cordons

and so when a Bihari came to a Pathan block they would ask “Tum kaun hai?” he would go “Ham pathanwa ai” ... and they would let him go

Then a Pathan would try the same at the other going “Ham kalat ka Bihari hai”.. and they would go “howga.. jao”


They are like a cat with socks these days

Did I tell you my dad lived in Karachi between 1959/1961. I was talking to him the other day. He recounted how he lived in Jacob Lines and would frequent the beach or what was then Gandhi gardens. He moved north in 1961 before moving to UK.
