UAE Wants to Import Pakistan's Precious Dasht River Water

What a great reply..hats off Sir.
Respect.
May Allah be pleased with you.

In my humble opinion, nothing is more exciting than large scale engineering projects. Pakistan is blessed with towering mountains and water resources passing through them - an ideal situation for water storage plus hydroelectricity. InshaAllah you'll make the best use of them.

Wrong Approach :
Taking water from Present water capacity (which is low - moderate)

Correct Approach :

Get UAE interested in 10-12 Billion dollar Investment in Pakistan's DAM infrastructure
Mainly
  • Kala Bagh Dam (Job creation in Pakistan)
  • Another Mid size dam (Job creation in Pakistan)

Increase Pakistan's capacity for water storage by 15-25% , then construct artificial lake in Baluchistan area specifically for purpose of export of water to UAE from that special lake (Designated for UAE) , create a factory in region with UAE to bottle water to UAE. Workforce hired from local Province.

Luckily Pakistan is blessed with water, we just seem to throw it into sea by our own hands
It could be wonderful idea if done correctly

How it benefits Pakistan:

a) Safety from Floods and reduce damage to local infrastructure
  • No broken bridges
  • No damage to farming
  • No loss of life during floods
  • No damage to roads !!! No need for reconstruction to same road
  • No property damage to home
  • No infestation of Mosquito based illnesses due to flood water
Saving of 1.5 ~ 2.5 Billion dollars from flood damage for ever

b) Tremendous increase in water storage (15-25% increase)
c) More land irrigated for more food production, increased yields
More farming revenue , more food for people to eat
d) Availability of drinkable water
No more water shortages
e) Electricity generation (FREE SIDE EFFECT may be 10,000 MW)
Clean energy , can power industry , residential areas , trains, subways
f) Via canals some water can be diverted to needed areas (Like Thar etc)
Bring water to desert areas even desert would bloom with crops

Benefits to UAE:
a) Fresh Bottled Himalayan water for its population (a secondary source of water)
obviously they have their own source of water now so having second source is good

  • Water = Life and it would be a great privilege to share the blessing of clean water with UAE
Its up to UAE if they want to create bottled water , or transport water to their cities via pipeline and sea ships carrying it there but then water is lost due to evaporation and other natural means but bottle water is idea format

Bottled water is more efficient way to save as mostly folks drink from bottles in UAE etc

and Prime Himalayan water is ideal to be drinkable from bottle

b) Water can be stored for emergency in UAE or used by the public in urban cities

c) UAE have tremendous National savings 10-12 Billions won't even make a dent , it is an
investment

Inshallah we will..
Turkey and Pakistan along with other progressive Muslim nations one day will be the most prosperous nations in the world.
Stay blessed and keep usher us with your nice positive posts.
Stay blessed..Love for Turkey

Such a beautiful water... i didnt know we had the dam in Balochistan .... hats off to Mushy !!!

If this water supplied to UAE, l guess, it would be returned back to Pakistan via containers in drinking water bottles. It is worth to note, UAE does not produce anything (except concrete jungle), UAE is famous as Hub for Re-Export.

I have posted this before. I would stress that we should look to improve our canal system and build large scale reservoirs to deal with the floods. Each province should have at least one large scale reservoir to deal with flooding. I did a small study on water scarcity in Pakistan and its future needs (with a few assumptions created a chart showing total surface water available and compared it to population, 1960-2055).

Pakistan is already a water scarce country and this will only get worse as the population increases. I think Pakistan should have capacity to store its entire surface water i.e. ~145maf (million acre feet) of water (Pakistan has capacity to store only about 11% of the surface water). I also think people should not be fixated on Kalabagh dam either. There are a number of other sites which could serve the same purpose (here I am talking about large scale dams).
Furthermore agriculture need to be improved for efficient use of water and land.
It would be better to grow the food in Pakistan and then export it to ME or other countries. This will benefit Pakistan as it will create employment and industry.

I beg to disagree on the reservations regarding sharing water. Excessive water, stored in large number of dams, may be sent to the UAE which lacks such precious resources provided by Allah u Azimusshan. They in turn need to invest heavily on building dams, as suggested by the forum members, to make it a win/win situation for all. Turkey is supplying water to the Northern Cyprus through pipes across the Mediterranean Sea. As believers we need to believe that providing water is a great virtue since we will need it badly on the Day of Recompense.
An alternate proposal would be for the UAE to invest in large corporate farms in Pakistan and the construction of water reservoirs that would cover farm and local requirements. This would make more sense because it would be a more sustainable solution and assist both Pakistan and the UAE.

Balochistan's Mirani Dam built during Musharraf years is the largest dam in the world in terms of volume for flood protection with a floodstock of 588,690 cubic hectometer.

General Synthesis

The work done for Baluchistan under Musharraf Sahib and Military vision cannot be denied
