A normalisation deal between Saudi Arabia and Israel would benefit the region, the kingdom’s foreign minister has said, adding that a potential deal “depends to a large extent on the progress of the peace process”.
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, during an interview on Thursday, added that “the normalisation of Israel’s status within the region would bring tremendous benefits to the region as a whole”.

“It would be extremely helpful economically, socially and from a security perspective,” he said in the interview with CNN, adding that it would be possible only if a Palestinian state within 1967 borders was delivered.
Saudi Arabia has previously made similar comments, saying it would only normalise ties with Israel within a plan that would deliver a sovereign state to Palestinians.

“What we need to make happen is a peace deal that delivers a Palestinian state with dignity and with a workable sovereignty that Palestinians can accept,” Prince Faisal had said in December last year.
He added at the time that the normalisation of ties with Israel has long been part of Saudi Arabia’s vision, saying that the kingdom envisaged a move in exchange for the creation of a Palestinian state within the 1967 borderlines.

Israel, UAE and Bahrain sign US-brokered normalisation deals
In September last year, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed the so-called Abraham Accords to normalise ties with Israel. Sudan and Morocco have since followed suit.

The deals were the first since Israel’s recognition by Egypt in 1979 and Jordan in 1994.
Last year’s agreements, brokered by former US President Donald Trump’s administration, included a freeze by Israel on planned annexation of Palestinian land.
Palestinian officials condemned the normalisation as “a stab in the back of the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian people”.
A two-state solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict closely reflects the Arab Peace Initiative, which was proposed by Saudi Arabia in 2002.

The initiative called for normalised relations between Israel and other Arab states in exchange for a full withdrawal by Israel from lands it occupied in the 1967 war, including the occupied regions: Golan Heights, East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
The initiative was re-endorsed over the years by the Arab League but never implemented, as Israel continued its occupation and settlement expansion in the West Bank.

I agree with you empires greater than USA have died (e.g. British Empire, Japanese empire, Soviet Union).
Then the Arab countries should do another oil embargo against USA. But can they do that?

Or sell oil to China, Taiwan, and Japan at reduced prices.

. .
They would have got f35 with limited capabilities ensuring Israel maintained an edge over the Arabs
Exactly. Then the Arab League countries should stand united against Israel.
Do another oil embargo against USA. And sell oil at a reduced prices to China, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Brazil, etc.

.
I don't understand why UAE is so adamant to get F35 when it is coming with all bugs ... They should look for some open source and sanction proof gadgets ..

Unless you are living in a cave USA is surplus producer of oil.

Why would the Arabs sell oil at reduced prices to China, Japan, Taiwan, Germany, Brazil, etc. But then why does anyone listen to you ?

Producing Oil doesn’t mean all demands are met and additional regulatory costs make importing easier at times. The US is a net crude importer for the last umpteen years

Arabs are focused on THEIR countries - their people’s welfare and country’s growth unlike Pakistan(is). MBS may be maligned by quarters abroad but he is much loved by his own people who have transformed within this rule into a VERY different and progressive(both from a social and technological level) society.

Eventually, the GCC sees Oil as tertiary source of income versus tourism and technology/service exports. To them, the threat isn’t Israel but radical groups who will 99% of the time harm their fellow citizens or muslims due to this narrative so if they can downplay the Israelis as a threat they get more internal security which is where FDI gets generated (unlike Pakistan where literally no one wants to invest except in SaaS or service industries which aren’t impacted as much by internal security issues versus hardware industries or technologies)

Today the GCC holds a lot of cards to use against the US besides the massive stock of US debt and infrastructure investments . The Emiratis wanted to incorporate their own systems into the F-35 specifically Tawazzun weapons while the US wants them to buy straight from Raytheon or NG stock which is not acceptable because to them(UAE) they have qualified for this cooperation after meeting the key tickmarks(recognition of Israel and full integration with CENTCOM) so they want close to IAI level access if not the exact same.

its really sad to see paksitan which is much bigger and much older doing nothing while KSA/UAE /GCC countries are doing best to keep economy on track . our tourism sucks our investment is doomed and our people turn extreamists which are laughing on UAE/KSA reforms here . while GCC with reform is turning ahead of use light years now . paksitnai jahalat ko islam ka name de ker so rahy hain .

everything you say is true except they hope to count on USA against external threats

.
Israel will never accept that any Arab country to get similar or better technology from U.S.A. There are strict restrictions , & conditions how and where the aircraft are used, main reason to cancel talks.

. .
everything you say is true except they hope to count on USA against external threats
They do and they don’t. Basically they want to get the US intertwined in their fights from a support and ally perspective namely Iran. And Iran isn’t to be taken lightly especially with how its used Political Shiaism to embed both political and militant power into Arab Shia populations. Lets put it this way, some 24 countries in the world have populations in which varying percentages swear allegiance to religious-political leadership with ties to or direct control via Tehran.
