A corvette has generally been considered in the 1000 ton ballpark. This is just slightly smaller. A Frigate has generally been considered between 2500 tons to less than 5000 tons. So 2400 would be a very heavy corvette indeed.

So, while the Russians are giving it a stretch to call an 800 ton ship a corvette, our Turkish brothers are giving it a stretch from the other side, by calling a 2400 ton ship a corvette too.

well, wonder its not more practical if we designate the ship according to its mission and purpose rather than its size.

also it seems Russia have problem building ships fast enough for its navy , wonder if they can deliver in time ?
