Many soldiers have sacrificed their lives and limbs to protect our motherland. Sagara Silva a resident of Kudavaskaduwa was born on the 29th of March 1981. After finishing his school education he joined the Sri Lanka army and in 2001 he joined the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment. Afterwards he was stationed in Muhamalai, Poonani, Trincomalee, Mannar and Adampan areas during his tenure. He was wounded at Adampan in 2008 when an anti-personnel mine exploded. This brave soldier has lost both legs. He is married and is a proud father of a ten month old infant.

As this brave soldier had no home or land to his name a donation of a house with all modern facilities in Navagamuwa area was made under the patronage of Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit.

The newest wellness resort, ‘Abimansala 3’, at Pangolla for the lifelong care of 50 more dependent War Heroes of the North-Western Province, was ceremonially inaugurated by President, Mahinda Rajapaksa on Friday (25).

The Abimansala 3 at Pangolla, Kurunegala lying in a landmass of 10 acres is to house 50 more dependent War Heroes, resident in the North Western Province for lifetime care and rehabilitation. The location, rich with bio-diversity and facing the Pathalagoda Lake, bordering the banks of Deduru Oya, provides a soothing and panoramic view that brings mental peace and solace to the inmates.

Abimansala 3, well-equipped with all therapeutic needs to accomodate 50 dependent War Heroes is to be manned 24 hours with medical facilities on hand. A mini hospital, physiotherapy unit, swimming pool, gymnasium, Ayurvedic centre, hydrotherapy unit, recreation centre, entertainment hall and facilities for family members including short-term visits, are among the major features in this complex.

This has been constructed at a cost Rs 250 million, less than what was originally estimated, due to free expertise and labour support, extended by Army Engineers and other well-wishers in different fields.

The first wellness resort was established in Anuradhapura in 2011 and the second in Kamburupitiya in 2012. The Abimansala wellness resort is a concept to house the dependent War Heroes. These wellness resorts will be set up to house dependent War Heroes in other provinces as well.

Typical Burghur mentality. Notice his references to "the oldest democracy of Asia" and "beacon of governance"... his parents must have taught him the Burghur fairy tale that everything was A-okay when the British were running the country and the Burghurs were their lapdogs, living a life of plenty on the backs of the Singhalese, Tamil and Moor natives. When the apartheid state was coming to an end, most of the Burghurs couldn't handle it so they ran away to places like Australia trying to sneak in through the White Australia Policy. They still hold onto the dream of the "good old days" where they trampled on everyone else and had the lions share of important positions despite being a pissy little minority not even making up 1% of Sri Lanka's population.

He's made a pretty good point. The Sinhalese and Tamils have far more in common with their Indic brethren than they do with the Burghurs.
