U.S. Sends Second Carrier to Asia Amid Tensions with China

Not a single American serviceman or servicewoman needs to die for nothing near / over / in China. But if American servicemen and servicewomen must die, then so be it. China is not a Non Nato Major Ally. China is a global rival of America.

Over a million Japanese soldiers got killed or amputated in China from 1937 to 1945. No country can conquer China.

Who is trying to conquer China?

. .
America, Russia, Japan, Korea, India, just about everyone. Conquest is human nature. How else do you think China got so much territory had it not been for Chinese conquest?

Can you provide examples for America attempting to conquer China? The last time we were militarily involved in China, we were helping to liberate China (WWII). Claiming that the US is attempting to conquer China is pure paranoia. As you said, China cannot be conquered.

The US does not conquer directly. The US prefers to use coups and install pro American governments, for example in Iraq (which backfired and became a major Shia ally of Iran), Iran (with the Shah), Ukraine.

But China is the same size of America at 9.5 million square kilometers, so such a conquest strategy won't work on China.

United States Strike Group is composed of 1 carrier, 1 or 2 cruiser, a destroyer squadron, the carrier air wing (70-80 units), and attached submarines (can be SSNs or SSBNs), a logistic ship and a supply ship.

Attached is a US Navy Strike Group in fanning position:

Note, the subs usually are dispatched before the CBG , or one is covering the flank.

Only SSN or SSGN escort the carrier group. SSBN's where about should not be reveal by the surface warship. SSBN are one of the nation's most important strategic assets and it would be foolish to reveal its location by attach it to a CBC.

You mistake standard operating procedure and Naval dispatch with 'attempting to conquer China'. I think you need to step back and analyze the situation carefully.

From my experience and interaction with US Navy personnel -- it is the proud nature of US naval history and delivery of the objective / goals. Given the United States' history of breaking the Imperial Japanese Navy (then the 3rd largest naval force in the world in WWII), its history of breaking the Nazi Germany's Battle of the Atlantic, its innovation by breaking Japanese and German command and communication through the Enigma Project, as well as the United States Navy's successful challenge to the Soviet Navy during the height of the cold war. The United States Navy commands both actual and perceived threat and power. The simple fact that the US Strike Force / Battle Group is being dispatched to a conflict zone is not only a perceived warning / perceived threat to those on the receiving end , but also an actual threat due to the shear firepower of the battle group. It is my impression that CBGs will have SSNs and/or SSBNs wherever it goes. Considering the number of SSBN's in the US Naval Fleet, it can be a healthy assumption that 1 or 2 SSBNs will be trailing a Carrier Strike Group.

In regards to the situation with China , the Carl Vinson Strike Group is not only a perceived threat, but an actual threat. Conventional and Nuclear.

I want to be clear that the subs I was referring to earlier in the thread that deploy with strike groups are attack submarines. Our ballistic missile subs go out on individual deployments.

Prior to the Gulf War, Iraq was considered to have one of the most modern, dense air defense systems in the world. They got steamrolled to the point the Soviets/Russians took notice. We might not get every missile system out there, but it will be enough to gain air superiority, thereby gaining the upper hand.

. .
Over 400,000 American soldiers got killed over 3 years of fighting in WW2. Such a casualty is unacceptable today. If the US fights China, a country of 9.5 million square kilometers the size of America, millions of American soldiers would be killed.

. . . .
Wonder why how many aliens killed off each other for greed and power?
