U.S. Navy ships pass through strategic Taiwan Strait, riling China

Good that US warship wants to.come within DF-21D antiship ballistic missile range. :enjoy:

That is the most foolish things to do.
We came within range because we know that shit do not work. :enjoy:

Okay smarty, why don't your country and your grand dady's country give Taiwan a seat in the UN recognize it as a country then?

Japan is not his country. He is just an imposter.

Lol, wannabe Japanese. Have some self respect.

Empty tough talk. And off topic. And pathetic that he needs back up. Is as weak as China's claim on Taiwan.

What DoTell got right is that he spoke towards me after reading the contents of my post. The actual contents of a post is pretty much going to indicate where the poster stands in mind. DoTell responded correctly because he responded to the actual contents of the post. Consider that you should even though you won't.

Anyway, this is supposed to be about Taiwan. The Chief of Naval Operations of the US, John Richardson, had a talk followed by Q&A in late January and one of the question is the Q&A asked about the US destroyers going through the Taiwan Strait and how that can affect US naval relations with the PLA Navy. His response was that is that as they try to work with the PLA Navy they have to be clear on the position that the waters in the Taiwan Strait are international waters therefore from that stand point, the US feels it ought to freely be able to sail anything through there. To which a small applause came up. Small but typically in these talks such as Brookings, CSIS, Atlantic Council, any level of applause to a question is very rare. That part is 51:28 to 57:58.

There was a CSIC talk on January 16th with Japanese Defense Minister Takeshi Iwaya and in the Q&A portion, the question as to whether or not Japan would assist Taiwan against an attack by China, to which he made a rather long and cautious answer but with critical points being that Japan cares for the security and economy of the whole Asia-pacific region and Taiwan is a part of it and that not only Taiwan but also that it is important for all of the sea lanes in the region to be open and not only for Taiwan and he finished by saying that he hopes for Taiwan and China's relations to be peaceful in resolution, discussion, and action and Japan would support that together with the US. That part is from 54:27 to 56:39.

Old legacy or not, this is still the CURRENT Constitution that used by R.O.C or Taiwan. And it is this Constitution gives the current Tsai government the power to rule the Taiwan island.

Like it or not, constitutionally, both Taiwan and Mainland China belongs to China. No matter the China is PRC or ROC.

People in Taiwan has the constitutional right to change the current constitution. No matter it is the article about the name of ROC, or the article about territory. The ROC Constitution gives them the right to do so, just like the ROC Constitution mandates that both Taiwan and Mainland China belongs to China.

Of course, once such change happens, there would be consequence, very serious consequence. I hope they won't be that mad on this.

Diplomacy is a wrong term.

Both Mainland and Taiwan belongs to China. The relationship between Mainland and Taiwan, to a certain extent, is similar to the relationship between Shanghai and Beijing. How can Shanghai and Beijing keep diplomacy relationship?

Tell that to the 13 colonies.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder of course.
