The US men's team almost gets beat again..this time it's the Serbians.
US: 94
Serbia: 91
People seems to forget Serbia is last years FIBA World Championship runner ups. The US have a few good games, and we saw how fragile that Team USA get in the game against the Aussie, and now facing a more able opponent, yet, the same stays.
Seems to me, this team USA have a very hard time defending the 3-pt line. We saw how good the Aussie shoot the ball downtown and the only way US kept up is they also shoot the ball downtown as well, the Serbian seems like took a lesson from the Aussie and drawing the US to a slow defence, and the point go racked punch by punch, if we ply fast offence, US will kill you with transition basket everytime you miss, and by forming a shot and use the clock, it both limited Serbia chance to miss a shot and also limited how US can score you.
The only way to win against the US is not to outscore it, but rather limited the US team ability to score, if we play slow, the US team will have to follow, this is what the rest of the world get out from the game with Australia, and Serbia use it really well. But again, US win by 3 simply because US also is a good scoring team (having a high 2 and 3 pts FG%), but still, that's rocky win and that's the only way other country can win the US team.
US team need to learn how to break off plays and play zone, it won't do much man on man, as they are going to use the clock to their advantage. Hope Team USA learn the lesson, again.
