U.S. Explores Pakistan Supply Route Alternatives

If the USA concludes that it cannot supply its forces in Afghanistan via Pakistan, then it will simply drastically reduce its footprint in Afghanistan. We have no real strategic interest in Afghanistan now. We only stay out of a moral obligation to try to help the region develop. So, if Pakistan wants to stop co-operating with this effort, so be it. And, too, we can spend the $3B per year we are paying Pakistan's Army on bribing other people on other supply routes.

Pakistan cannot suggest anything the US wants to do regarding their foorprint in Afghanistan, but finding alternate routes will reduce the burden on our economy. Pakistan will survive the $3 billion dollars aid like we did in the 4 previous embargoes and sanctions by the US. Pakistanis tend to work harder when they are challenged.

Let's be honest here, shall we??? US needs Pak in this war on Terror....period.
We don't need to fight the war on terror the way it is being fought. We could, instead, fight the war defensively at far less cost. We could let the Muslim world sort out its own destiny.

As said before, AF has strategic importance......Anyhow your goal is AF was/is to defeat Al-Qaeda....OBL killing is going to make it happen sooner but that's about it...

I have always been of opinion that Afghanistan should be occupied by Pakistani Force, and we should go in under pretext to destroy the drugs that come from Afghanistan into Pakistan and make this as a province of Pakistan.

We already have good ties to Iran and we can link it up with Trade and commerce. Bye bye hardliners and extremist simple rule

And we take care of government matters of Afghanistan province. :agree:

With out this step , Afghanistan will keep falling apart with civil war after civil war:sick:

Hmm...by the $3B you mean this:
And oh yes, only $ 300 million has been paid to Pakistan out of the 1.25 + 1.25 + 1.25 Billion (over the past 3 years) that were promised to Pakistan. Thankyou!!

And if you were also including the CSF in this figure of 3, then i can only feel surprised by you poor knowledge on the subject. In short the CSF is what we spend in WoT (your war that was imposed on us) and which is PARTIALLY reimbursed and still a hell lota claims lay pending on your part.

This is funny! Do you do stand-up comedy professionally?

Its not a question actually. They have endured your threats for decades and survived, haven't they?

The question, your intellects are pondering over right now is, without those dollar bailouts, will you survive?

Sometimes I wonder with amazement at some comments made here. It has not been decades and you have to be real stupid to think Pakistan wont survive without what you call aid but is actually reimbursements for expenses made by PA.

Pakistan won survive without US aid..Indian love to trumpet that all around yet we did survive and actually many good things happened during US embargo..like JF-17 and Nukes as well plethora of rockets.
US aid is just a bribery to keep corrupt goons like Zardari in power..History has documented it that US aid has always been a prime source of strengthing despotic dictators and failed leaders. All failed arab leaders lived off US aid.

What's wrong US ally doesn't want their supplies coming through Pakistan? US can't make that decision it has to use Pakistan as a transit route and it can't leave Afghanistan until Pakistan allows conditions for leaving. US is staying in Afghanistan and Pakistan will facilitate in making sure it does... Enjoy your 11th Christmas there. Remember Pakistan and US are allies now, we have to be in this together, no cutting and running this time...lol
