U.S. 30 million military aid is an insult to the Philippines

the US ditched the Philippines 20 years ago upon the fall of Soviet Union, letting the country roten for 20 years, now it wants to use merely 30 million to win over the hearts of Filipinos, an already bankrupted state selling bananas and entertainer services to Japan for survivals?

no way, sucker.

Obviously, the money is not enough.

You are essentially making the dog work for you and eating it's dog food.
 What did I just said about critical thinking...

.
Well looks like the US will be writing blank checks for the service of the Filipinos, until it gets it's house in order.

Right...So if the US remain in the PI like Japan, then the PI is an American puppet state. But since we left, pretty much at the PI government's request, then we 'ditched' them...

What did I just said about critical thinking...

Our house is in far better shape than your Pakistan.

Well if you just openly admit the US is a troll, we'll have no problems
May be YOU should give US an outline of how much the US should give the PI based upon immediate military need and from your own (cough) extensive (cough) military experience.

.
During the first three quarters of 2010 alone, Japan provided over P40 billion in ODA to the Philippines.

that's about 600 million US dollars.

I would think China also provide some kind of aid to the Philippines, considering it's the largest trading partner of the latter.

don't treat the Filipinos as countrymen, this country poor though, still live in modern age.

I don't have any military experience, but perhaps I can join the air force, then order your book "How to defect for Dummies", and bring home an F-22.

Got it...

So you have no military experience...But you feel eminently qualified to criticize the amount of aid to a foreign country whose own technological level is several that below US.

Got it...

IMO, PI should take what they get, just the message that US is behind can do wonders sometimes :azn:

Whatever opinion anyone has on how the US treat our allies, China will treat the PI a hundred times worse. The 'inferior' Asians know this.

.
US gave aid to Pakistan almost 20.5 billion dollars since WOT, maybe Phillipines should learn it !

Do you really have to go that 'inferior' asians way?

I know last year they purchased a ship and two helicopters which cost them roughly around 4.9 billion. So what could they possibly do with 30 million, my militarily experienced defecting senior?

So this is called "food" for what animal?

Some highlights:

• US economic assistance to Pakistan peaked in 1962, at over $2.3bn

• in 2010, military assistance to Pakistan totalled $2.5bn - including $1.2bn in coalition support funds

• US assistance to Pakistan reached its lowest level in the 1990s, after President George H.W. Bush suspended aid flows over Pakistan's emerging nuclear programme

• US military assistance dropped dramatically during and immediately after the Indo-Pakistani wars of 1965 and 1971

• in the 1970s, President Carter suspended all aid to Pakistan (except food aid) in response to Pakistan's decision to construct a uranium enrichment facility

• although US assistance (both economic and military) to Pakistan has fluctuated considerably over the last 60 years, it has risen steadily since 2001
