Two TTP terrorists killed in Karachi: CTD

KARACHI – The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed two terrorists of a banned terrorist outfit in Karachi, local media reported.

According to CTD SSP Umar Shaid, forces on Monday raided an area of Manghopir following a tip off regarding the presence of terrorists.

As the raiding party reached the area, the terrorists opened firing and in response the CTD officials killed two of them while another managed to escape.

According to local media, the killed terrorist has been identified as Jabbar and Danial belonging to a fraction of TTP, Mufti Shakir Group, which has also been involved in Korangi and Abul Hassan Isphani Road attacks.

SSP Umar Shahid revealed that the terrorists wanted to target mosques and police officials, adding that 2 to 3 groups were involved in carrying out attacks on police officials.

He claimed that Ansar ul Sharia, a terror outfit was involved in killing of DSP traffic policeman in Azizabad.

According to the forensic report of two handguns recovered from possession of killed terrorists, the same pistols were also used in the murder of a sub-inspector around two years ago, he added.

Additional IG Sanaulla Abbasi said that the dead terrorists had earlier escaped on Saturday when security officials raided a seminary organized by terrorists’ mastermind, Mufti Shakir. The seminary was sealed on the same day.

CTD in Karachi is a very brave and effective team, I salute and appreciate their duty, but they have poor equipment and lack in many basics!

the goal of complete eradication of any urban insurgency can only be achieved if the local l.e.a's are on board with the military . Team Shoaib saddal has proved it in the past .

CTD in Karachi is a very brave and effective team, I salute and appreciate their duty, but they have poor equipment and lack in many basics!

But they have achieved what Balochistan police can't achieve in years. They have killed more TTP guys than both Balochistan police and FC. Obviously more improvement is needed but even this level of CTD can do wonders for Quetta and Balochistan. This is exactly what I was saying in other thread on Quetta blast.

True. And CTD has achieved a lot with its network of intelligence. Most of the top TTP karachi guys are either dead or have ran away to Afghanistan. Similar CTD in Quetta and Balochistan can do a lot to improve law and order situation in that province.

it is not possible for any terrorist organization to operate anywhere in Pakistan without the blacksheeps within the system. we need to eradicate terrorism once and for all otherwise we will keep on retaliating and they will keep on strengthening terrorist activities more.

we need to trace every political top workers activities including MQM, ANP & PPP for this you need technology. our intelligence have to go beyond the law. actually that's how intelligence works. so that we can easily understand terrorist organization mindset & network.

TTP has financial network within Pakistan which need to be eradicated. few politician unwillingly supporting terrorist organization to earn black money because of smuggling. smuggling is the biggest source of TTP. NDS & RAW supporting them. but they smuggled via Pakistan.
