SWAT: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti unveiled on Thursday a number of projects for the reconstruction and rehabilitation in Swat district during his whirlwind tour. In the first phase of his visit, he inaugurated a micro hydel power station of 250 KV at Kalam. He then went round the flood-ravaged areas in Kalam and Utror.

Next, he proceeded to inaugurate the Khawza Khela Grid station during which he announced a raft of rehabilitation and reconstruction projects. “The grid station has not only been restored but also upgraded which will provide electricity to Shangla district along with Khwaza Khela and Madyan Union Councils,” Hoti said.

Moreover, he said, 10 bridges have already been rehabilitated by the provincial government and 40 more will soon be reconstructed. “Up to Rs800 million will be spent on the rehabilitation of roads swept away by the floods,” the chief minister said.

He also said that regular classes in Swat Cadet College will commence from March 2011. A project worth of Rs1.4 billion of laying a road from Kanju area to Madyan Valley will soon be initiated in partnership with the US.

“The federal government did not fulfill the promise of providing compensation to the families of those killed, so the provincial government has issued Rs26 million for the purpose,” the chief minister said.

one project is in Kalam and second?

Oh well, 0.25MW is very amount of electricity but it is always very good to see more electricity plants being inaugurated

It is said "Katray Katray se Darya banta hai"

We need to continue to all (small, medium, medium-heavy, large and mega) energy projects to overcome the challenge. Good News.

0.25MW..

how much area can this cover?

i think 50 houses maxx...

Good for a small village up in the mountains which cannot be connected to national grid.
