LANDIKOTAL: Two more commanders of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) surrendered to security forces here on Monday.

Officials of the political administration in Jamrud subdivision of the Khyber Agency said TTP commanders Liaquat and Mirmat renounced militancy at a Jirga. The Jirga, comprising Kokikhel elders, had been trying for the last several days to persuade the Taliban commanders to lay down arms. Their houses would have been demolished had they not surrendered to security forces, the officials added. Another TTP commander, Iftikhar Kokikhel, had surrendered to security forces on Sunday.

Amazing development!

I have a question if someone can answer. Does anyone know how many men were serving under these commanders? And also, after their surrender, what happens to the men under their command? Is there a possibility that they would put down their arms as well? Regionally, this should be the key to success. Force the commanders AND their men to lay down their arms and you have yourself a safe zone.

So i think the burns are now felt by the taliban as PA is in action to eliminate them. Previously Pa was holding themselves, but not they have unleashed pathos upon Taliban :enjoy:
