In all honesty, Gandhi did try to divide the Pakistan Movement by backing sectarian organisations to exploit tensions and split the movement.

But at least, he verbally talked about getting on with each other. The current lot of Indian leadership doesn't seem to be too bothered about civic unity.

For most part they are freely available with no commitment to marriage unless you seriously want to get into one. But I don't know why anyone would with one of them. Just date Brahman girls and marry a Muslim girl. Best of the both worlds. That is what most people do.
