Turkey airport attack: Explosions and gunfire reported at Ataturk International airport in Istanbul
Two explosions and gunshots have been reported at Ataturk airport in Istanbul, Turkey.

Several people have been wounded in the attack on the capital's main international airport, according to Turkish news broadcaster NTV.

While reports claim that gunshots were heard in the airport car park, video footage shows people running for cover inside the terminal building.

Witnesses told CNN taxis were ferrying wounded to the hospital.

In December an explosion on the tarmac at Sabiha Gokcen airport in Istanbul killed a cleaner.

Over the last few months Turkey has suffered a number of bombings linked to Kurdish rebel groups and Isis.

Ataturk airport is the third busiest European airport after London Heathrow and Paris's Charles De Gaulle.

American media is reporting that there have been two large explosions and gunfire reported at Istanbul's main airport, Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Reports are early, so not allot of information at this time.

The PKK offshoot TAK bombed Sabiha Gökce airport this year and killed one. Its not the time to make fast conclusions.
