The Naga insurgent group ambushed a convoy of Assam Rifles at around 1pm on Saturday between Tobu and Ukha village under Mon district of Nagaland.

The shootout lasted for atleast 60 minutes as per local sources.

Guwahati: Two Assam Rifles personnel were martyred in an encounter with NSCN militants in Nagaland’s Mon district on Saturday afternoon while three others were injured. This attack comes just two days after the declaration of Lok Sabha elections.

The Naga insurgent group ambushed a convoy of Assam Rifles at around 1pm on Saturday between Tobu and Ukha village under Mon district of Nagaland.




The shootout lasted for atleast 60 minutes as per local sources. Casualties on the other side couldn't be ascertained so far.


The district administration and Police have rushed to spot immediately after the ambush.

This was a full scale operation in which IA came back in body bags. They went in to find the shooters who did the hit on MLA other day.

IA is too much stretched from IOK to Nagaland to Maoist to naxalite it is every where they all want freedom. More deployment means more military budget means more civilians starving to death means more rebellions.

Live in your lala land. FYI Assam Rifles are paramilitary and they don't belong to IA. The forces dealing with naxals are mostly state police teams or CRPF. From Arunachal Pradesh to Nagaland, all the forces are BSF, ITBP, Assam Rifles and other such paramil units. Also, there has never been a full scale operation in NE nor the naxal hit areas. Whenever politicians or security forces are ambushed, they retaliate and take em out
